- Breakage of the glass tube with possible projection of fragments and cuts.
- Exposure to dust or vapours in the event of breakage of fluorescent tubes that may contain mercury.
- Risk of electric shock during installation, removal or cleaning.
- Tube falling due to poor seating or vibration, with potential for personal injury or property damage.
- Glare, eye strain or discomfort from flicker if the installation is not appropriate.
- Overheating if the luminaire is covered or ventilation is obstructed.
- Damage due to moisture or condensation in unsuitable environments, with risk of corrosion or short circuits.
Safe use
- Switch off the power before installing, replacing or cleaning any tube.
- Handle the tube with both hands, holding it by the ends, without forcing rotation or seating.
- Check compatibility with the luminaire and, where applicable, with the starter or control gear specified by the product manufacturer.
- Avoid touching the glass with wet hands; use gloves or a cloth to improve grip and reduce the risk of cuts.
- Do not stare directly at the light at close range and use the diffusers provided with the luminaire.
- Keep ventilation slots clear and do not cover the equipment during operation.
- In case of breakage: ventilate the room for several minutes, avoid breathing in the dust, collect fragments with cardboard and adhesive tape, do not use a vacuum cleaner; place the debris in a sealed container and take it to an appropriate collection point.
- Do not use dimmers, timers or sensors unless compatibility is expressly stated.
Storage and maintenance
- Store the tubes in their original packaging, horizontally, protected from impacts and vibration.
- Keep in a dry, ventilated place, away from sources of heat, moisture and direct sunlight.
- Do not stack heavy objects on top to avoid deformation or breakage.
- Switch off the power and wait for the tube to cool before cleaning; use a dry or slightly damp cloth, without abrasive cleaners.
- Periodically check brackets, lampholders and diffusers; replace parts that are damaged or loose.
- Replace the tube if it flickers, is slow to start or shows darkening at the ends.
- Take spent or damaged tubes to recycling points or designated collection systems; do not dispose of them in general household waste.
Restrictions on use
- Do not use outdoors or in damp areas (bathrooms, kitchens with steam, garages) unless the product and the luminaire indicate they are suitable.
- Do not cover the luminaire or the tube with textiles, insulation or other elements not intended by the manufacturer.
- Do not use with ballasts, drivers, dimmers or accessories that are not compatible.
- Do not modify, cut or drill the tube, lampholders or connections.
- Do not use the product if there are cracks, burnt or scorched lampholders, a burning smell or damaged cables.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets; do not allow them to handle the product.
- Do not install near readily flammable materials.
- For work at height, use a stable ladder and avoid overreaching or working without good ambient lighting.
