Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Risk of electric shock when handling connectors, sockets or when opening access panels.
  • Possible tipping or shifting of the equipment if not properly anchored or levelled, with risk of impact or entrapment injuries.
  • Overheating and fire start due to blocked ventilation grilles or dust build-up.
  • Cuts or pinching when opening or closing service covers and when handling internal components or accessories.
  • Damage and electrical risk from liquid spills on the screen, slots or integrated peripherals.
  • Trips and falls due to loose or poorly routed cabling in walkways.
  • Screen or touchscreen glass breakage due to impacts or misuse.
  • Injuries when moving or lifting the equipment due to its weight and size.

Safe use

  • Unpack carefully and remove cable ties or staples, keeping them away from the unit; use assistance to move it.
  • Lift and push from the base or designated handles; do not hold or move the kiosk by the screen or peripherals.
  • Place on a firm, level surface; anchor the kiosk according to the manufacturer’s instructions to prevent tipping.
  • Keep grilles clear and allow space for airflow; keep the equipment away from sources of direct heat.
  • Connect to a suitable, accessible mains socket; avoid pinched cables or routing under carpets.
  • Route and secure cabling with cable guides; do not run cables across walkways or form loops that could snag.
  • Switch off and unplug before cleaning or accessing the interior; do not open panels with the unit energised.
  • Clean the screen and enclosure with a soft, slightly damp cloth; do not spray liquids directly or use abrasive products.
  • If the kiosk includes a printer, dispenser or reader, clear jams following the manufacturer’s guidance; do not force mechanisms.
  • Periodically check stability and the tightness of visible screws without handling internal components.

Storage and maintenance

  • Before installation, store the kiosk upright, in a dry place protected from dust, impacts and vibrations.
  • Avoid extreme temperatures and humidity; allow the unit to acclimatise to room temperature before switching on if it has been cold.
  • Perform periodic inspections of cable and plug condition, anchor security, levelling, and screen integrity.
  • Clean grilles and air inlets with the unit switched off to remove dust; do not apply compressed air very close to components.
  • Replace consumables (paper, rolls, inks) in accordance with the manufacturer’s guide and, where possible, with the unit switched off.
  • If the model includes a battery or backup system, avoid impacts, heat and punctures; do not use the unit if you detect swelling, unusual odour or abnormal heating.

Usage restrictions

  • Do not use outdoors or in damp environments unless the model is rated for it; protect from rain, splashes and condensation.
  • Do not cover grilles or place objects on the kiosk; do not insert objects or liquids into slots or ports.
  • Do not modify the structure or drill the enclosure; do not add accessories that block ventilation or affect stability.
  • Do not allow children to climb on, sit on or handle service covers; in public spaces, supervise to prevent misuse.
  • Do not use the equipment in the presence of conductive dust, flammable vapours or severe vibration.
  • Installation, anchoring and any internal access must be carried out only by qualified personnel.
  • If you notice a burning smell, sparks, unusual noises or excessive heating, stop use and disconnect safely from the mains.
