Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Risk of electric shock due to incorrect connections, damaged plugs or cables.
- Overheating and possible burns if the luminaire is covered or touched after prolonged use.
- Potential fire risk from proximity to curtains, textiles, carpet, dry leaves or other combustible materials.
- Trips and falls caused by cables on the floor or low-mounted luminaires in walkways.
- Glare from upward or ground-level light output, which may impair vision.
- Ingress of water or moisture into models not suitable for outdoor or damp areas, with a risk of short circuit.
- Breakage of the diffuser or housing due to impacts or being stepped on, with a risk of cuts.
- Damage to flooring caused by heat or vibrations if placed on delicate surfaces.
- Risk to children and pets from contact with hot parts, pulling the cable or tipping over the luminaire.
Safe use
- Read and follow the manufacturer's instructions before installing or using the product.
- Always disconnect the mains power before assembling, relocating or changing the light source.
- Place the spotlight or wall light on a stable, level, vibration-free surface; fix or recess only as specified for the model.
- Avoid walkways and secure cables with cable clips; do not leave them taut, pinched or hidden under rugs.
- Aim the beam to reduce glare and avoid looking directly at high-intensity LED sources at close range.
- Maintain a safe distance from curtains, papers, carpets or other combustible materials; do not cover the luminaire.
- Use the recommended bulb or light source and do not exceed the wattage specified by the manufacturer.
- For outdoor or damp areas, use only suitable models and keep all connections protected from water.
- Do not handle with wet hands or in the rain; allow to cool before moving or changing the lamp.
- If the fitting is recessed into the ground, ensure water, mud or leaves do not accumulate around the luminaire.
- In areas where bicycles or vehicles may pass, use only models designed to withstand it or reroute traffic.
- If a fixed connection to the mains is required, installation must be carried out by qualified personnel.
Storage and maintenance
- Unplug or switch off the power before cleaning or replacing the light source.
- Clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth; avoid abrasive products and high-pressure water jets.
- Check the condition of cables, plugs, seals and diffusers periodically; if you notice cracks, deformation or internal moisture, stop using the product.
- Remove dust, leaves and dirt that may block ventilation or light output, especially on outdoor models.
- Replace the light source when it fails or flickers with a compatible spare specified by the manufacturer.
- Check and gently tighten loose screws or fixings, without forcing parts.
- For storage, protect it from impacts, moisture and extreme temperatures; coil the cable without sharp kinks.
- After heavy rain outdoors, verify correct operation and that no water has accumulated around the luminaire.
- Keep the accessories and instructions for future maintenance.
Restrictions of use
- Do not use the product submerged or in shower or pool areas unless the model expressly specifies this.
- Do not place objects on top or cover with rugs, soil, decorative stones or textiles.
- Do not step on, strike, or allow vehicles to pass over the luminaire if it is not designed for it.
- Do not modify, drill or open the housing; do not splice or repair cables in a makeshift manner.
- Do not use damaged multi-socket adaptors or extension leads, nor coil live cables that may heat up.
- Do not install near intense heat sources or where it may receive direct water jets.
- Do not use timers, sensors or dimmers that are not compatible with the model.
- Do not position the product where it could cause direct glare on stairways or critical access points.
- Do not allow unattended use in the presence of small children or pets.
- If you notice a burning smell, sparks, unusual noises or persistent flickering, switch off and disconnect immediately.
