Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Electric shock due to moisture, overloaded sockets or damaged cables.
  • Overheating and fire from blocking vents or grilles, covering the unit, or using unsuitable multi-socket adaptors or extension leads.
  • Condensate spills that may cause slips and electrical hazard.
  • Discomfort or minor burns from the very hot air from the exhaust hose and nearby surfaces.
  • The window kit falling or the unit tipping over if the cable or hose is pulled.
  • Hazard due to refrigerant leakage in the event of puncture or impact; dangerous atmosphere in very small, poorly ventilated spaces.
  • Tripping over the mains cable or the exhaust hose.

Safe use

  • Place the unit on a flat, stable surface, leaving clearance around air inlets and outlets.
  • Keep the appliance upright; after transport, wait for the period recommended by the manufacturer before switching on.
  • Plug directly into an earthed wall socket; avoid multi-plug adaptors and extension leads.
  • Route the cable and exhaust hose without tension, kinks or sharp bends; keep the hose as straight and as short as possible.
  • Assemble and secure the window kit according to the instructions, ensuring it cannot come loose or fall.
  • Keep it away from water, showers, basins and rain; do not handle with wet hands.
  • Manage drainage: empty the tank or use a hose with a downward slope; do this with the unit switched off and cool.
  • Do not cover the appliance or the vents; do not place objects on top or use it to dry clothes.
  • Avoid directing the airflow straight at people for prolonged periods.
  • If you notice an unusual odour, whistling, smoke, sparks or unusual noises, switch off, unplug and ventilate the room.

Storage and maintenance

  • Disconnect from the mains before cleaning or handling any part.
  • Clean or replace the filters at the frequency specified by the manufacturer; remove dust from vents and the exhaust hose.
  • Regularly check the cable, plug, exhaust hose and window kit; do not use if they show signs of damage.
  • Empty and completely dry the condensate system before storage; always store upright.
  • Store in a dry, ventilated place, protected from impacts, dust and extreme temperatures; do not stack objects on top.
  • Coil the hose without crushing or deforming it; avoid heavy objects on the cable.
  • At the start of the season, perform a test run and check that the controls respond normally.

Restrictions of use

  • Do not use outdoors without protection or in damp areas such as bathrooms, saunas or near swimming pools.
  • Do not use in atmospheres with flammable vapours, airborne dust or explosion risk; keep flames or sparks away, especially if a leak is suspected.
  • Do not drill, open, modify or pierce the appliance, the exhaust hose or the circuits; internal repairs must be carried out by qualified personnel.
  • Do not place on sloped or unstable surfaces, or on thick carpets that block the air inlets.
  • Do not leave running during prolonged absences; switch off if no one is at home.
  • Keep out of reach of small children and pets; use under supervision when they may interact with the unit.
  • Do not run the cable under carpets or route the hose through gaps that could constrict it or overheat it.
