- Entanglement of clothing, loose gloves, hair or accessories in moving parts.
- Inhalation of dust and chips; eye irritation and hearing damage due to high noise levels.
- Electric shock from damaged cables, plugs or switches, or due to moisture.
- Fire or overheating caused by sawdust build-up and blade binding.
- Vibration, fatigue or loss of control during prolonged cutting.
- Pinch points on guides, tables and adjustment mechanisms.
- Risk to other people in the work area from flying debris or noise.
Safe use
- Before use, check the machine is stable, securely fixed and adequately lit.
- Always set and use the guards and safety devices (blade guard, riving knife, stops, brake) where applicable; do not remove them.
- Use blades suited to the material and in good condition; do not use chipped, warped or non-recommended sizes.
- Secure the workpiece firmly and use push sticks, a rip fence or a mitre gauge to keep hands away from the cutting area.
- Stand slightly to one side of the cut line to reduce the risk in the event of kickback.
- Do not force the feed: let the machine cut and make sure the material is free of nails, staples or other foreign objects.
- Remove spanners/keys, adjustment tools and any loose debris from the table before switching on.
- Wear eye and hearing protection and, if there is dust, an appropriate mask. Avoid loose clothing and tie back long hair; do not wear gloves near rotating parts.
- Connect a dust extraction system where possible and keep the area around the blade clear.
- For adjustments, cleaning or blade changes, disconnect the power supply and prevent any accidental start-up.
- Do not leave the machine running unattended and make sure the emergency stop or main switch is within easy reach.
Storage and maintenance
- Store and use the machine in dry, well-ventilated places; avoid moisture and contact with water.
- Regularly clean sawdust and resin from tables, housings and vents; empty dust bags or containers before they are full.
- Periodically inspect the cable, plug, switches, guards and fasteners; replace any damaged items immediately.
- Check the condition and sharpness of the blades; replace any worn or damaged blade.
- Verify the alignment of guides, tables and stops according to the manufacturer’s instructions to maintain accurate and safe cuts.
- Tighten screws and anchors; check there is no abnormal play or excessive vibration.
- Lubricate only the points specified by the manufacturer and never the workpiece support surfaces.
- After maintenance, run the machine briefly at no load to check everything works correctly.
- If it will not be used for a while, disconnect from the mains and protect the machine and blades against dust and corrosion.
Usage restrictions
- Not suitable for minors; use only by adults with basic knowledge of handling stationary saws.
- Do not use the machine under the influence of alcohol, drugs, severe fatigue or medicines that impair alertness.
- Do not use it outdoors in the rain, in damp environments, or where there is a risk of explosive atmospheres.
- Do not modify the machine or bypass its guards or switches.
- Do not cut materials for which the machine or blade is not designed; avoid workpieces with loose knots, hidden metal objects or unknown materials.
- Do not work with pieces that are too short or narrow without specific auxiliary jigs.
- Do not use extension leads or multi-socket adaptors that cannot handle the machine’s power; avoid loose connections.
- Keep bystanders and animals out of the working area; if there are inexperienced users, carry out the operation under close supervision.
- Do not attempt to remove offcuts or clean near the blade until it has come to a complete stop and the machine is disconnected.
