Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Burns from contact with very hot surfaces and plates, as well as from vapour when opening drawers or lids.
  • Fire risk if heat outlets are covered or if flammable materials are nearby (cloths, paper, plastics).
  • Electric shock due to moisture, spills, wet hands, or damaged cables/plugs.
  • Breakage of crockery and splashes due to thermal shock when placing cold or damp plates on very hot surfaces.
  • Items falling or toppling due to overloading or unstable stacking of plates.
  • Overheating of the appliance due to blocked vents or lack of ventilation.
  • Accidents involving children or pets due to accidental contact with hot areas or pulling on the cable.

Safe use

  • Place the plate warmer on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, with clear space around it.
  • Keep vents and heat outlets clear; do not cover with cloths, lids, aluminium foil or trays that block ventilation.
  • Use only heat-safe crockery; avoid plastics, melamine, or damp items. Dry plates before warming.
  • Do not heat food directly or sealed containers; the equipment is intended for warming crockery.
  • Handle plates and trays with gloves or oven mitts; open drawers or lids slowly to avoid the blast of heat.
  • Plug in and unplug with dry hands; keep the cable away from edges and hot surfaces.
  • Do not leave the appliance running unattended for extended periods. Switch off and unplug after use.
  • Observe the model's capacity and distribute the crockery evenly to avoid instability and hot spots.

Storage and maintenance

  • Allow to cool completely before moving, cleaning, or storing.
  • Always unplug before cleaning. Do not immerse the appliance or direct jets of water onto it.
  • Remove residue and splashes with a soft, slightly damp cloth; avoid abrasive products or scourers.
  • Thoroughly dry surfaces, plug and cable before using again.
  • Periodically clean vents and trays to remove dust and debris, and refit them correctly before use.
  • Regularly check the cable, plug and casing; if any show damage, do not use the appliance.
  • Store in a dry, ventilated place, out of reach of children. Coil the cable without stretching or pinching it.

Usage restrictions

  • For indoor and dry-area use; do not use outdoors, on switched-on hobs, or inside enclosed spaces except for models expressly designed for this.
  • Keep flammable materials (cloths, paper, aerosols, alcohols, oils) away and do not cover the surface to 'retain the heat'.
  • Do not use to dry textiles, defrost food, or as a space heater.
  • Do not operate with overloaded adaptors or extension leads; use a suitable outlet and keep the cable untangled and away from heat.
  • Do not use if it has suffered knocks or has been dropped, if it emits a burning smell, produces sparks, or operates irregularly.
  • Adult supervision is required in the presence of children, people with sensitivity or reduced mobility, and pets.
  • Do not exceed the load capacity or stack plates in an unstable manner; avoid handles or utensils that protrude and could snag.
