Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Knocks or pokes from the tips and ribs when opening or closing, especially in crowded areas.
  • Finger pinches from the slider and hinges of the mechanism.
  • Loss of control in gusts of wind, with risk of hitting people, canopy inversion or breakage.
  • Increased risk during thunderstorms in open areas.
  • Slips due to drips on smooth floors when going indoors.
  • Reduced field of vision when walking and crossing streets if the umbrella blocks your view.
  • Cuts or snags from damaged or rusty ribs, tips or seams.
  • Accidental opening inside bags or during transport if not properly secured.

Safe use

  • Check the condition before use; do not use the umbrella if there are loose ribs, exposed tips, torn fabric, or the mechanism offers unusual resistance.
  • Always open it facing away from your face and other people, leaving sufficient space around you.
  • Keep fingers away from the slider and hinges when opening and closing; hold it by the handle.
  • Hold the umbrella firmly and point it into the wind; in strong gusts, fold it down and seek shelter.
  • Before going indoors, shake off excess water in a safe place, close it and secure it with the strap or sleeve to prevent dripping and accidental openings.
  • Do not use it as a cane or support, and do not hang bags or other objects from the handle.
  • When walking near traffic, keep it to one side and at a height that does not block your view.
  • Take care when passing through doors, stairways and narrow spaces to avoid snagging or hitting other people.

Storage and maintenance

  • Allow the umbrella to dry completely, open, in a well-ventilated area after each use to prevent mould and corrosion.
  • Avoid direct heat sources (radiators, heaters or flames) that may warp parts or damage the fabric.
  • Store it closed, secured with its strap or sleeve, upright if possible and in a stable location.
  • Clean with a soft cloth and water; avoid solvents or abrasive products that may damage the fabric or finish.
  • If it has been in contact with salt water or sand, rinse with fresh water and dry thoroughly.
  • Regularly check ribs, tips and seams; stop using it if you detect deformations, exposed sharp edges or loose parts.
  • Do not disassemble or tamper with the spring mechanism; improper assembly can cause injury.

Restrictions on use

  • Not a toy; avoid use by children without adult supervision.
  • Do not use it during thunderstorms, especially in open areas, on beaches or in elevated locations.
  • Do not use it while driving, cycling, riding a scooter, or during other activities that require both hands and full visibility.
  • Do not modify the product or add accessories that could affect its balance or closing.
  • Do not use the umbrella in very confined indoor spaces or near other people's faces.
  • Dispose of and replace the umbrella if the mechanism opens unpredictably, or if it has exposed tips, significant breakages, or rust that stains or cuts.
