Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Finger trapping when lowering the lid or seat, especially around the hinge area and with children.
- Shifting or instability if the seat is incorrectly installed or has loose fixings.
- Injury from the lid or seat slamming shut.
- Cuts or scratches from breakage, cracks or damaged edges.
- Skin irritation and discolouration from using harsh or unsuitable cleaning products.
- Slips if the seat surface is wet or has cleaner residue.
Safe use
- Check compatibility with your toilet (fixing hole spacing and shape) before installation.
- Install following the manufacturer’s instructions and tighten the fittings firmly but without over-tightening to avoid cracks.
- Before use, check that the seat is stable and does not move sideways.
- Lower the seat and lid by holding them with your hand to prevent sudden closing and trapping.
- If your model has soft-close, do not force it or try to speed up the closing by pushing.
- Sit centred on the seat; avoid lateral leaning that may cause shifting.
- Clean with a soft cloth and a neutral cleaner; rinse and dry afterwards. Avoid abrasive scouring pads, solvents, ammonia or concentrated bleach, and do not mix cleaners.
- Periodically check screws and hinges; retighten if you notice any play and replace damaged parts.
Storage and maintenance
- Before installation, store the seat in a dry, ventilated place, protected from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent warping or discolouration.
- Keep screws, caps and small parts in their bag, out of the reach of children.
- Do not place heavy objects on the seat or lid during storage to prevent warping.
- Clean regularly to prevent build-up of residues; promptly remove splashes of strong cleaners and rinse with water.
- Dry the hinges and fittings after cleaning to reduce corrosion, especially if they are metal.
- If your model allows quick-release for cleaning, follow the manufacturer’s instructions to remove and refit it safely.
- Discard and replace the seat if it has cracks, chipped areas or damaged hinges.
Usage restrictions
- Do not use the lid or seat as a step, platform or support to get up.
- Do not sit on the closed lid unless the manufacturer expressly states it is suitable for this.
- Do not allow children to play with the lid or put their hands near the hinges.
- Do not use the product if it is loose, unstable or damaged; repair or replace it before further use.
- Do not expose the seat to extreme temperatures or to concentrated chemicals or mixtures of cleaners.
- Do not install the seat if the fixings or the toilet ceramic are damaged or cracked.
