Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Cuts from cardstock edges or when using scissors and craft knives.
  • Choking or ingestion risk from small parts (offcuts, confetti, die-cuts), especially for children under 3 years and pets.
  • Combustible material: can catch fire easily if exposed to flames, sparks or high temperatures.
  • Possible colour transfer to skin, clothing or surfaces, especially when damp.
  • Mild irritation from paper dust when cutting large quantities or during die-cutting; discomfort if it gets into the eyes.
  • Jams and overheating in printers if the weight (gsm) is not compatible.
  • Suffocation risk from packaging bags.

Safe use

  • Handle with dry hands and cut on a stable surface; keep fingers clear of the cutting line and use tools in good condition.
  • Use a cutting mat and, where appropriate, a ruler with a non-cutting edge to guide straight cuts.
  • Keep the cardstock away from candles, lighters and other heat sources; do not place it on hot light fittings.
  • Check the compatibility of the weight (gsm) with your printer before printing and follow the equipment manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Avoid putting the cardstock in your mouth and do not use it for direct food contact unless specifically stated for this product.
  • Work in a ventilated area when applying glues, paints or aerosols to the cardstock, following the precautions for those products.
  • Clear away offcuts and small pieces immediately to prevent trips and to stop children or pets from handling them.
  • If paper dust gets into your eyes or you notice skin irritation, stop the activity and rinse with water.

Storage and maintenance

  • Store cardstock in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place, away from moisture, flames and heat sources.
  • Keep sheets flat or in rigid folders to avoid warping and damaged corners; do not place excessive weight on top.
  • Protect from direct sunlight to reduce fading.
  • Keep the pack closed when not in use to prevent dust and moisture-related warping.
  • Keep out of reach of young children and pets.
  • If they get wet, allow to dry completely flat; do not use sheets with mould, bad odours or stains for children’s crafts.

Restrictions on use

  • Not a toy. Do not allow children to handle it without supervision; keep small parts out of the reach of children under 3 years.
  • Do not use near flames, embers, heaters, ovens, microwaves or on appliances that generate heat.
  • Do not use to wrap hot or greasy foods or for uses involving direct contact with the mouth.
  • Avoid uses that could obstruct breathing or vision (for example, costumes that cover the nose, mouth or eyes).
  • Do not force use in printers, die-cutting machines or guillotines that are not compatible with its weight (gsm).
  • Do not use as a structural element to bear weight or in electrical applications.
