Main risks
- Small detachable parts (eyes, buttons, shoes, dummies, clips or other accessories) posing a choking hazard.
- Magnets or button batteries, if included with the product, posing a serious risk if swallowed.
- Ribbons, necklaces or long cords that may become entangled with fingers, hair or neck.
- Doll hair that may come loose, tangle or be put in the mouth.
- Suffocation from bulky soft toys placed in cots or pushchairs.
- Cuts or pinches from broken seams, hard edges or exposed internal structures, if present.
- Electrical risk or overheating in models with electronic functions or during charging.
- Mould, unpleasant odours or irritation if the doll gets wet and is not dried properly.
- Tripping hazards if dolls or accessories are left on the floor or on stairs.
Safe use
- Remove and dispose of bags, ties and protective packaging before first use; keep the product instructions.
- Check before each use the seams, eyes, buttons, hair and accessories; if you detect loose parts or damage, remove the toy from use.
- Follow the recommended age and the child’s ability; match play to the environment (indoors, outdoors, near water).
- If batteries are included: use the specified type, insert with the correct polarity, do not mix new and used batteries, keep loose batteries out of reach, and ensure the battery compartment cover is securely closed.
- If magnets are included: do not allow them near the mouth, nose or ears; if a magnet is missing or detaches, stop using the product.
- Do not force joints or twist to extremes; use mechanisms as intended.
- Keep the toy away from flames, heaters, radiators and other heat sources.
- Only submerge the doll if it is designed for water use; afterwards, rinse with clean water and dry completely.
- Prevent children from chewing the doll’s hair or small parts, and remove accessories when not in use.
Storage and maintenance
- Clean following the manufacturer’s instructions; in general, use a damp cloth and mild soap for non-textile surfaces and ensure thorough drying.
- For fabric dolls, allow full, ventilated drying to prevent moisture and odours.
- Periodically check seams, eyes, joints and accessories; replace or remove damaged components.
- Store in a dry, ventilated place, avoiding prolonged direct sunlight and damp.
- Keep small accessories in a closed container and out of reach of children under 3 years.
- After water play, drain and air; do not store the doll wet or in sealed bags.
- If electronic and not to be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
- Keep dolls out of reach of pets that may chew or pull off parts.
Restrictions of use
- Not suitable for children under 3 years if it contains small parts, magnets, batteries or long cords; always follow the manufacturer’s recommended age.
- Do not use in the bath, pool or at the beach unless the product clearly indicates this.
- Do not leave bulky dolls in cots, pushchairs or beds during a baby’s sleep.
- Do not hang dolls around a child’s neck or fasten them with cords to pushchairs or railings.
- Do not use if the battery compartment cover is missing or if there are loose components.
- Do not modify the toy or carry out makeshift repairs that create sharp edges or loose parts.
- Do not use as a teether or allow prolonged sucking of hair or accessories.
- Adult supervision is required with children under 3 years and whenever water or electronic functions are in use.
