Usage Warnings
Bathroom Stools and Stepladders
Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Slips due to water, soap or creams on the bathroom floor, on the legs, or on the surface of the seat/steps.
- Tipping over when used on uneven surfaces or when placing weight on the edge.
- Finger entrapment when folding or unfolding step stools.
- Falls from overreaching, climbing with wet feet, or losing balance.
- Trips if the stool or step stool is left in walkways.
- Loss of grip due to wear or damage to the feet/end caps on the legs.
Safe use
- Place the product on a flat, firm, dry surface; remove any water, soap and slippery residues first.
- Before climbing, check that all legs are supported without wobbling. If it wobbles or moves, do not use it.
- On folding models, ensure hinges/mechanisms are fully locked before stepping on.
- Climb up and down facing the steps, slowly and with dry feet. Keep your body centred and step on the full tread, not the edge.
- Avoid overreaching; if you cannot reach comfortably, climb down and reposition the stool or step stool.
- One user at a time. Do not move or drag the product while you are on it.
- Do not use inside the bath or shower unless the product is clearly intended for that purpose.
Storage and maintenance
- Clean and dry after each use to remove soap, limescale and moisture that could make surfaces slippery.
- Store in a dry, well-ventilated place, away from heat sources and direct sunlight that could warp or degrade plastic or rubber parts.
- Keep out of walkways to prevent trips.
- Periodically check legs, non-slip feet, treads and joints. If there are cracks, looseness or any loose parts, stop using it until repaired or replaced.
- If the model has screws or hinges, check and tighten them according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Avoid cleaners that leave a slippery film; rinse thoroughly and dry.
Usage restrictions
- Do not exceed the maximum load stated by the manufacturer, nor use it as scaffolding or an improvised platform.
- Do not place it on thick mats, soft or unstable surfaces.
- Do not allow children to use it without adult supervision. It is not a toy nor an aid for climbing onto furniture or windows.
- Do not use with wet socks, cream on your feet, or slippery footwear.
- Do not use the product if it is damaged, has missing parts, or the rubber feet on the legs are badly worn.
- Do not stand on the top step/seat if it compromises your balance or stability.
