Safety warnings and precautions

Key risks

  • Cuts from contact with blades or burrs, especially during assembly, cleaning or if handled without the lid fitted.
  • Entrapment of fingers or objects in the hopper or grinding area.
  • Ejection of fragments if foreign objects (stones, metal) enter, or if used without the lid correctly fitted.
  • Electric shock hazard on electric models due to damaged cables, wet plugs or splashes on the motor.
  • Motor overheating due to blockages or prolonged use, with a possible burning odour.
  • Vibration and movement of the appliance if placed on unstable surfaces.
  • Generation of fine coffee dust that may irritate eyes or sensitive airways.

Safe use

  • Place the grinder on a flat, dry and stable surface before use.
  • Secure the lid/container before switching on the appliance; do not operate it with the lid open.
  • Insert only dry, clean coffee beans; check for and remove any foreign objects.
  • Keep hands, hair and utensils away from the grinding area while it is operating.
  • On electric models, plug in with dry hands and unplug before assembling, disassembling or cleaning.
  • Avoid prolonged cycles; take breaks to prevent overheating and wear.
  • If you hear unusual noises, notice a burning odour or excessive vibration, stop use and check for obstructions.
  • Adjust the grind setting with the appliance switched off to prevent damage and pinching.
  • Keep the cable away from edges, hot surfaces and walkways to prevent pulls or trips.

Storage and maintenance

  • Unplug and allow the appliance to come to a complete stop before cleaning or handling.
  • Do not immerse the motor unit or use jets of water; clean the exterior with a slightly damp, well-wrung cloth.
  • Remove coffee residues after each use; clean blades or burrs with a soft brush to prevent build-up.
  • Avoid moisture on metal mechanisms to prevent rust and seizing.
  • Periodically check the lid, container and cable; if they show cracks, looseness or damage, replace them with spares suitable for the model.
  • Store the grinder in a dry, ventilated place, out of the reach of children; protect the blades with their cover.
  • Coil the cable without stretching or pinching it to avoid internal damage.

Restrictions of use

  • Do not grind wet, oily or sticky foods (e.g., nuts, seeds with a high fat content) unless expressly indicated for the product.
  • Do not operate the grinder empty or when it is jammed.
  • Do not use the appliance outdoors in the rain, in very humid environments or near sources of water.
  • Do not modify the appliance or attempt to sharpen blades or burrs yourself.
  • Not intended for industrial use or continuous heavy-duty operation.
  • Keep out of the reach of children; children must always be closely supervised.
