Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Breakage due to impacts or drops, with a risk of cuts from shards, especially in glass products.
  • Burns from contact with the hot surface or from spills of hot drinks.
  • Thermal shock when moving from very cold to very hot temperatures (or vice versa), with possible cracking or shattering of the container.
  • Spillage due to poorly fitted lids, overfilling or abrupt pouring, with a risk of slipping.
  • Pressure build-up with carbonated drinks in containers not designed for them, with splashing on opening.
  • Contamination and bad odours due to insufficient cleaning or inadequate drying (mould).
  • Detachment of small parts (caps, spouts, seals) that may pose a risk to children.
  • Strain injuries when carrying large, very full jugs.

Safe use

  • Check before each use that there are no cracks, chips, impact damage or deteriorated seals.
  • Avoid sudden temperature changes: allow the container to come to temperature and pour hot liquids gradually.
  • Do not overfill; leave a gap to prevent splashes and to facilitate closing the lid.
  • Secure the lid or closure firmly before moving or transporting; do not hold the jug or bottle by the lid or spout alone.
  • Always place on a stable surface and away from the edge of the table or worktop.
  • If it contains hot drinks, use a trivet and hold the handle carefully to avoid burns.
  • Do not seal tightly or shake with carbonated drinks unless the product is designed for it; when opening, do so slowly and away from your face.
  • Check and fit seals and spouts correctly to prevent leaks; replace damaged parts.
  • Avoid very abrasive utensils or scourers that could scratch or weaken the material.
  • Do not use to store highly acidic drinks or high-proof alcohol for long periods unless specified by the manufacturer.

Storage and maintenance

  • Wash before first use and after each use with warm water and mild detergent; rinse thoroughly.
  • Disassemble lids, taps and seals for thorough cleaning, and allow all parts to dry separately.
  • Dry with the opening facing downwards and allow ventilation to prevent moisture and bad odours.
  • Store in a dry place, away from edges and direct heat sources; avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight.
  • Do not stack glass containers unstably or place weight on top that could cause cracking.
  • Check the condition of seals and replacement parts regularly; replace if they show wear or deformation.
  • Follow the manufacturer’s instructions on suitability for the dishwasher, microwave, oven or freezer; if in doubt, hand-wash and avoid extreme temperature changes.
  • If it has contained dairy, juices or sugary drinks, clean and dry as soon as possible to reduce the growth of bacteria and mould.

Restrictions on use

  • Do not use the product if it is cracked, chipped, deformed or if the closure does not fit properly.
  • Not a toy: keep out of the reach of young children and supervise use by minors.
  • Do not place on hobs, in the oven or directly over flames.
  • Do not use in a microwave, dishwasher or freezer unless expressly indicated by the manufacturer.
  • Do not pour boiling liquids into containers that are not designed for high temperatures.
  • Do not ferment drinks or store carbonated drinks in containers not designed to withstand pressure.
  • Do not carry in backpacks or bags unless it has a leak-proof closure; keep upright to prevent leaks.
  • Do not leave perishable drinks such as milk or freshly squeezed juices unrefrigerated for hours.
