Usage Warnings

TV Monitors and Projectors Mounts

Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • TV, monitor or projector falling due to incorrect installation, unsuitable fixings or overloading, with a risk of injury and damage to property.
  • Tipping of freestanding or wheeled stands when pushing, moving or adjusting the height.
  • Finger trapping when handling articulated arms, hinges or tilt mechanisms.
  • Damage to walls or ceilings and accidental drilling into hidden cables or pipes during drilling.
  • Trips or snagging caused by loose or poorly routed cables.
  • Overheating of the equipment if vents are obstructed.
  • Glare or eye strain when looking directly into a projector beam.
  • Deterioration due to moisture or corrosion that can weaken the fixings over time.

Safe use

  • Check the mount is compatible with the weight, size and mounting pattern of the equipment; do not exceed the limits specified by the manufacturer.
  • Follow the step-by-step installation instructions and use only the fixings and parts specified for the model.
  • Select fixings appropriate to the substrate material (timber, brick, concrete, plasterboard) and fix into structurally sound points; do not rely on hollow boards alone to carry the load.
  • Before drilling, check there are no electrical cables or pipes in the fixing area.
  • For large or heavy equipment, carry out installation and lifting as a two-person task.
  • During adjustments, support the equipment and keep fingers clear of hinges and pinch points; do not force the end-stops.
  • Secure all screws and pins and verify stability and level before releasing the equipment.
  • Organise the cabling with cable ties or trunking, leaving enough slack for the movement of the mount and avoiding walkways.
  • Maintain ventilation clearance around the equipment and do not cover the vents.
  • On mobile stands, lock the castors and use flat surfaces; move the assembly slowly.
  • Do not look directly into the projector beam and avoid pointing it towards eyes or walkways.

Storage and maintenance

  • Periodically check for tightness of screws, the condition of fixings, and any abnormal play, especially after movement or impacts.
  • Inspect the wall or ceiling for cracks, damp or rust; if these appear, stop using it until the cause is resolved.
  • Clean the mount with a soft, dry cloth; avoid abrasive products or those that leave greasy residues. Do not apply lubricants unless instructed by the manufacturer.
  • Check the correct operation of the tilt and extension mechanisms, and the castor locks on models with a mobile base.
  • Keep manuals, any leftover parts and tools in a dry, organised place for future inspections or adjustments.

Usage restrictions

  • Do not exceed the rated maximum load, the supported size or the adjustment travel of the mount.
  • Do not hang from it, climb on it or use the mount as an anchor point or ladder.
  • Do not modify the mount or replace any fixings with parts that are not specified.
  • Do not fix to weakened surfaces, suspended ceilings or hollow walls without the proper reinforcing structure.
  • Do not install outdoors or in damp areas unless the product is designed for it.
  • Keep children away during installation and prevent them from playing with moving arms, levers or wheels.
  • Avoid installing the equipment directly above cots, beds or walkways where a fall could cause greater harm.
  • Do not use the mount if parts are missing, there are visible deformations, or if it cannot be adjusted and secured safely.
