Warnings and safety precautions

Key risks

  • Cuts or micro-injuries when using scissors, nippers, files, and tools with tips or blades, including electric versions.
  • Irritation, dryness, or allergic reactions from contact with polishes, gels, adhesives, polish removers, cuticle removers, or exfoliants.
  • Inhalation of filing dust and solvent vapours, which may cause eye or respiratory discomfort.
  • Risk of infection due to insufficient tool hygiene or sharing personal implements.
  • Mild burns from overly hot water, paraffin baths, or exposure to UV/LED lamps if used for prolonged periods or improperly.
  • Electrical risk when using devices near water or with damaged cables/plugs.
  • Slips on wet floors during or after foot baths.

Safe use

  • Read and follow the instructions for each product or device before first use.
  • Wash and dry hands and feet thoroughly. Do not apply products or use tools on irritated skin, open wounds, or nails showing signs of infection.
  • Clean and disinfect tools before and after each use as directed by the manufacturer. Avoid sharing personal implements.
  • Handle gently: trim in small sections, do not remove cuticles aggressively, and avoid excessive callus removal.
  • With electric or filing devices: start with low settings, do not apply excessive pressure, take breaks, and unplug before changing attachments.
  • Work in a well-ventilated area. Keep solvents away from flames or heat sources and avoid inhaling their vapours.
  • Perform a patch test on a small area before first use of polishes, gels, or removers. Observe the recommended timings and avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
  • When using UV/LED lamps, do not exceed the recommended times and consider protecting exposed hand skin with fingerless gloves or sun cream.
  • Check the temperature of the water and paraffin before immersing feet or hands. Dry thoroughly to reduce the risk of fungal infections and slips.

Storage and maintenance

  • Store tools with cases or tip protectors and out of reach of children and pets.
  • Keep cosmetics, adhesives, and solvents tightly closed, upright, in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place, away from heat and flames.
  • Unplug devices after use and allow them to cool. Do not use or store appliances with damaged cables, plugs, or casings.
  • Dry tools completely after cleaning to prevent corrosion. Replace files, blades, and heads when worn or damaged.
  • Empty, clean, and dry foot baths and accessories after each use to prevent build-up and the proliferation of microorganisms.
  • If the device is battery-powered, remove the batteries if it will not be used for a prolonged period and use only compatible chargers or batteries specified by the manufacturer.
  • Waste management: dispose of filings and disposable materials in appropriate containers and avoid pouring solvents or product residues down the drain.

Usage restrictions

  • Not suitable for children. For teenagers, use only under adult supervision, avoiding sharp tools and harsh chemicals.
  • Do not use in cases of inflamed skin, wounds, bleeding, or signs of infection. If pain, severe stinging, or a skin reaction occurs, discontinue use.
  • People with diabetes, circulation problems, neuropathy, on anticoagulant treatment, or with a weakened immune system should avoid sharp tools and aggressive procedures; consider seeking care from a qualified professional.
  • Avoid using UV/LED lamps and products containing monomers or acrylates if you have had previous reactions or sensitivity to these components.
  • Do not mix products or decant them into unlabelled containers. Use each item only for the purpose intended by the manufacturer.
  • Do not use electrical appliances with wet hands, in showers, or near standing water.
  • These products are not a substitute for medical care for fungal infections, persistent pain, or other conditions; seek medical advice if symptoms do not improve.
