  • Risk of suffocation if bulky soft toys are placed in cots, Moses baskets or toddler beds.
  • Build-up of dust, mites or moisture in the filling, potentially causing skin or respiratory irritation.
  • Fire hazard if the soft toy comes into contact with flames, candles, heaters or other heat sources.
  • In models with electronic components: accidental access to battery compartments or button batteries, with a risk of ingestion or leakage.
  • If magnets or other metal accessories are included, risk of ingestion if any piece detaches.

Safe use

  • Remove and dispose of all packaging, ties and loose labels before first use.
  • Regularly check seams, eyes, nose and accessories; stop using the soft toy if there are tears or exposed filling.
  • Avoid letting children bite, suck or pull hard on seams and decorative elements.
  • Keep soft toys away from flames, candles, radiators and other heat sources.
  • Do not cover the child’s face with the soft toy or use it to maintain positions during sleep; in the cot, keep the area clear.
  • Wash according to the care label; dry completely before reuse to prevent mould or odours.
  • If the soft toy uses batteries, ensure the compartment is securely closed (usually with a screw); keep new and used batteries out of reach and do not mix types or old and new batteries.
  • Do not place the soft toy in a microwave or use it as a heat pad unless it is expressly designed for this and used according to its instructions.

Storage and maintenance

  • Store in a dry, well-ventilated place, away from prolonged moisture.
  • Gently shake or brush periodically to remove dust and surface dirt.
  • Avoid placing weight on top to prevent deforming the filling or stressing the seams.
  • After washing, dry completely (air dry or as per the label) before giving the soft toy to the child.
  • Keep soft toys out of reach of pets that may chew them or pull off parts.
  • For soft toys with electronic components, surface-clean if indicated by the manufacturer and remove the batteries if it will not be used for long periods.

Restrictions of use

  • Observe the manufacturer’s recommended age and the specific warnings for each product.
  • For children under 36 months, avoid soft toys with detachable small parts, very long fur or accessories that may come loose.
  • Do not use the soft toy as a teether, anti-suffocation pillow, restraint device or protective equipment.
  • Do not hang soft toys over the cot with long strings nor place them near mobiles with small parts within the child’s reach.
  • Do not modify the product (add buttons, open the filling or insert objects) or use spare parts not intended for it.
  • Do not use the soft toy as a pet toy if it is intended for children; it could break and release parts.
