Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Risk of electric shock or burns when using damaged cables/adapters or power supply units.
- Overheating and even fire ignition due to overloading, poor contact, crushing, or covering the cable during use.
- Damage to ports and devices from forced connections or the use of incompatible adapters.
- Short circuits and corrosion due to exposure to liquids or moisture.
- Trips and falls caused by cables laid across walkways.
- Strangulation or injury to children and pets from long cables; bites that may leave conductors exposed.
Safe use
- Check the condition of the insulation and connectors before each use; do not use the product if you notice cuts, deformation, sparks or a burning smell.
- Plug in and unplug by holding the connector, never pulling on the cable; do not force the plug if it does not fit smoothly.
- Avoid sharp bends, knots or constant tension; leave slack so as not to strain the device’s ports.
- Keep cables away from heat sources, sharp edges and pinch points (doors, chair wheels, drawers).
- Use an appropriate length and route the cable through cable trunking or clips so as not to obstruct walkways.
- Keep hands and surfaces dry; do not use the product in damp environments unless the product itself specifies it is suitable.
- Verify power, voltage and connector type compatibility before using adapters or converters.
- Stop using and disconnect if the cable or adapter becomes excessively hot, changes colour or emits an unusual odour.
Storage and maintenance
- Coil in wide loops without twisting or overtightening; avoid knots and very tight winding that may damage the internal conductors.
- Store in a dry, ventilated place, protected from direct sunlight, dust and moisture.
- Clean with a soft, dry cloth; do not use liquids, sprays or solvents. Always disconnect before cleaning.
- Periodically check connectors and cable jackets; if you notice looseness, cracks or exposed wires, stop using and replace.
- Avoid crushing cables under furniture, carpets or doors; use suitable protectors if necessary.
- Keep out of reach of young children and pets to avoid pulling, biting or entanglement.
Usage restrictions
- Do not use the product if it is damaged, with damaged insulation, loose connectors or signs of overheating.
- Do not modify, strip, splice or repair with tape; if damaged, replace with a new one.
- Do not cover cables or adapters during use or place them on heat-retaining textiles.
- Do not use outdoors, in bathrooms or in splash-prone areas unless the product clearly states it is suitable.
- Do not exceed the rated current/power capacity of the cable or adapter, nor daisy-chain multiple adapters.
- Do not use cables to bear weight, hang objects or as a fastening.
- Do not leave long cables within the reach of babies or children without supervision; remove and tidy them away after use to prevent entanglement.
