Main risks

• Cuts when handling metal edges or damaged grilles.
• Detachment from inadequate fixing, posing a risk of falling and impact injuries.
• Finger entrapment in moving louvres or adjusters.
• Obstruction of airflow that may cause local overheating, condensation or poor air quality.
• Ingress of water, dust or pests due to improper installation, especially outdoors.
• Damage to cables, pipes or ducts when drilling for installation.

Safe use

• Check dimensions and compatibility with the duct and the intended environment (indoor/outdoor, damp areas).
• Handle with gloves and hold by rigid sections to prevent cuts and deformation.
• Use wall plugs and screws appropriate to the substrate material, and check that the grille is firmly secured.
• Before drilling, locate hidden services (electrical and water) and mark safe points.
• Do not cover the grille with furniture, curtains or decorative elements; avoid adding filters not intended by the manufacturer.
• Do not force the louvres or adjustment mechanisms; adjust them gently to allow the required airflow.
• If connected to a fan or extractor, isolate the power supply before installing, cleaning or dismantling.

Storage and maintenance

• Store grilles in a dry, flat place protected from impacts to prevent deformation.
• Keep screws and accessories in a labelled bag to avoid losing parts.
• Clean periodically with a vacuum cleaner or soft cloth; avoid abrasive products and high-pressure water jets.
• If it includes a mesh or filter, clean or replace as per the manufacturer’s instructions.
• Regularly check the fixing and general condition (corrosion, cracks, looseness) and re-tighten or replace when necessary.
• Outdoors or in very damp areas, inspect after rain or storms to remove water, leaves or dirt.

Restrictions of use

• Do not use to exhaust combustion fumes, grease vapours or high-temperature air except for models specifically designed for this.
• Do not block or reduce airflow in rooms with combustion appliances or plant rooms.
• Do not use as a support, step, or to hang objects.
• Do not allow children to put their fingers in or play with the louvres.
• Do not modify, trim or drill the grille; avoid painting it if this could obstruct airflow or immobilise mechanisms.
• Do not install on unstable or damaged surfaces that do not ensure a secure fixing.
