- Trips or falls due to overlong trouser legs or loose hems.
- Skin irritation or allergies from certain fabrics, dyes or metallic finishes on buttons and buckles.
- Colour transfer, especially from dark garments or denim, onto light clothing, upholstery or skin when wet or subject to friction.
- Pinches or chafing when fastening or unfastening zips.
- Flammability: increased risk near flames, sparks, barbecues or cigarettes.
- Suffocation risk from packaging bags.
- In children: detachment of small buttons/embellishments and long cords that can become caught.
Safe use
- Choose a size that allows comfortable movement, and adjust the hem to the correct length to prevent dragging.
- Secure drawstrings and ties; avoid long ends and, where possible, tuck them inside the garment.
- Fasten zips and buttons carefully; do not force a stuck fastener to avoid breakage or pinching.
- Keep trousers away from heat sources and flames; do not dry them on very hot radiators.
- Follow the care label; wash inside out and with similar colours the first few times if there is a risk of dye bleed.
- On escalators, bicycles or scooters, gather up the hems and avoid excessively wide garments that may snag.
- Do not use fashion trousers for sport or hazardous work; opt for garments specifically designed for that activity.
- Remove packaging and dispose of bags out of the reach of children.
Storage and maintenance
- Store them clean and completely dry in a ventilated place to prevent damp, mould and bad odours.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight or heat sources that may discolour or deform the garment.
- Hang or fold as appropriate; use suitable hangers and avoid hanging only by the belt loops to prevent deformation.
- Periodically check seams, buttons and zips; repair or replace any loose parts before use.
- Follow the washing and ironing instructions; avoid bleach or solvents not recommended.
- Treat stains promptly and wash inside out to protect colours and finishes.
Restrictions on use
- They do not provide protection against fire, high temperatures, chemicals or occupational hazards.
- They are not protective equipment and are not intended for specialised industrial use.
- Do not wear the garment if it has significant tears, undone hems that drag or defective fastenings.
- For young children, avoid trousers with long cords or easily detachable embellishments and maintain supervision during play and when on the move.
- Avoid belts or adjustments that are excessively tight, as they may impede breathing or circulation.
- Avoid use near moving machinery or rotating parts where the garment may become caught.
