Warnings and safety precautions

Main risks

  • Flammability: knitted fabrics can ignite easily on contact with flames, embers or sparks.
  • Choking or strangulation in children from cords, ties, tassels or other adornments around the neck.
  • Detachment of small parts (buttons, appliqués, sequins) with a risk of ingestion for young children.
  • Snagging on objects, doors, escalators, bicycles or machinery due to loose threads, open knit or wide sleeves.
  • Skin irritation or reactions in people sensitive to certain fibres, dyes or finishes.
  • Overheating from excessive warmth during intense activity or in hot interiors; chilling if the garment remains wet in cold weather.

Safe use

  • Keep the jumper away from open flames, candles, heaters, cookers, barbecues and sparks; take extra care when cooking.
  • Check before each use for loose threads, open seams, loose buttons or embellishments about to come off; if in doubt, do not wear it.
  • Avoid long cords or ties around the neck, especially for children; if present, secure them and do not leave them dangling.
  • Choose a size that is not excessively loose to reduce snagging; gather or roll up the sleeves when cycling, on public transport or near mechanisms.
  • If you notice itching, redness or discomfort, remove the garment; consider washing it before first use and check the composition if you have sensitive skin.
  • If the jumper gets wet from rain or sweat, change out of it and dry it completely to avoid chilling.

Storage and maintenance

  • Follow the care label instructions for washing, drying and ironing; improper care may damage the fabric.
  • Dry and store in a dry, well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and from heat sources such as radiators or heaters.
  • Avoid drying directly on hot surfaces or prolonged contact with heat sources.
  • Inspect seams, buttons and embellishments periodically; repair or discard the garment if it has damage that cannot be properly secured.
  • Store the jumper preferably folded to prevent the fabric from stretching; keep it out of reach of pets that may snag it.
  • If you use a lint remover, do so carefully and according to its instructions to avoid damaging the fabric.

Usage restrictions

  • Not suitable for children under 3 years if it includes small parts, beads, sequins or embellishments that may come loose.
  • Avoid jumpers with cords or ties at the neck during play, in playgrounds, when playing sport or near equipment with moving parts.
  • Do not wear the jumper near open flames, fireplaces, barbecues or when handling fireworks.
  • Do not wear very loose knitwear around moving machinery, tools or escalators.
  • People with an allergy or sensitivity to wool or other fibres should check the composition and avoid materials that cause a reaction.
