Main risks

• Choking on small parts, soft-toy eyes or buttons, balloons and detachable accessories.
• Ingestion of button batteries or small magnets, with risk of internal injury.
• Strangulation from strings, cords or long ties; entrapment of fingers or hair in mechanisms.
• Cuts or pinches from sharp edges, springs, hinges or exposed metal parts.
• Burns or fires due to overheating of electrical components or use of unsuitable chargers; battery leakage.
• Hearing damage from exposure to very loud toys near the ear.
• Irritation or allergies caused by certain materials, paints, latex or fragrances.
• Falls and knocks with ride-ons, children's scooters or climbing toys, especially on uneven surfaces or near stairs.
• Drowning when playing with water toys without supervision or due to water entering small parts.

Safe use

• Choose the toy according to the child's age and abilities; check the manufacturer's warnings before use.
• Remove and dispose of bags, ties and other packaging materials; keep spares and loose parts out of the reach of younger children.
• Assemble the toy following the instructions; ensure screws and covers are secure and that the battery compartment closes properly.
• For batteries: use the specified type, observe polarity, do not mix new and used batteries or different brands; remove depleted ones; do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries; charge electric toys with the recommended adaptor and under supervision.
• Keep button batteries and magnets out of reach; if one is missing, stop use and locate it before continuing.
• Avoid cords or long ties around the neck; do not hang cot toys with strings within the baby's reach.
• Do not aim projectiles at the face or eyes; use only the supplied darts or arrows.
• Keep sound-emitting toys away from the ear and adjust the volume if possible.
• Supervise play appropriately for the child's age; near water, always maintain arm's length supervision.
• For ride-on toys, use a helmet and protective gear where appropriate; play on flat surfaces and away from traffic and stairs.

Storage and maintenance

• Store toys with small parts, magnets or batteries separately and out of the reach of children under 3 years.
• Regularly check seams, wheels, axles, suction cups and joints; remove from use any toy with breaks, sharp edges or loose parts.
• Clean according to the manufacturer's instructions; disinfect surfaces that go in the mouth; for bath toys, rinse and dry thoroughly to prevent mould.
• Keep toys in dry, well-ventilated places; avoid direct heat, radiators or strong sunlight; do not leave batteries inside for prolonged periods.
• Tidy the play area to prevent trips; use lightweight boxes and, if there are chests, ensure they have hinges that do not slam shut.
• Store paints, glues or modelling clays or doughs tightly closed and out of the reach of younger children.

Restrictions on use

• Always observe the minimum age indicated by the manufacturer; do not give children under 3 years toys with small parts, loose magnets or button batteries.
• Do not use electric or corded toys in the bath or near water.
• Do not modify the toy or replace parts with non-original ones; do not remove guards, caps or safety locks.
• Do not allow babies or children to sleep with bulky soft toys, cushions or toys with cords in cots or Moses baskets.
• Do not use ride-ons or scooters on slopes, near stairs, roads, swimming pools or kitchens.
• Do not let children play with uninflated or broken balloons.
• Do not share oral-use toys (teethers, whistles) if they are damaged or unclean.
• Remove and dispose of the toy if a magnet or a button battery is missing, or if the battery compartment does not close securely.
