Usage Warnings

Pet Tunnels

Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Entrapment or suffocation if the animal cannot exit quickly or if the exits are blocked.
  • Injuries from internal rings or rods that may come loose and protrude through the fabric.
  • Ingestion of small parts, bells, feathers, threads, or detached fabric fragments.
  • Tripping hazards for people or pets if the tunnel moves into walkways or on slippery surfaces.
  • Stress or fright caused by crinkling noises or sudden movements of the tunnel.
  • Overheating or dehydration in poorly ventilated spaces, in direct sunlight, or in high temperatures.
  • Build-up of moisture and mould if used or stored while wet.
  • Finger pinches when opening foldable spring-loaded tunnels.

Safe use

  • Choose an appropriate size: the animal should be able to pass through and move with plenty of room; avoid narrow models for robust breeds.
  • Before each use, check seams, fabric and rings; if there are tears, exposed rods or loose parts, do not use it.
  • Unfold the tunnel slowly and keep it away from your face and hands to avoid knocks or pinches.
  • Place it on a flat, non-slip floor, away from stairs, doors and high-traffic areas.
  • Always keep at least one exit clear; do not cover the ends or block vents or windows.
  • Supervise play, especially with puppies or pets that tend to chew; remove hanging accessories if they deteriorate.
  • Avoid long leads, ribbons or collars that could get caught inside the tunnel.
  • Outdoors, place it in the shade, avoid rain or extreme heat, and offer water frequently.
  • Reduce usage time if you notice panting, nervousness or tiredness; allow breaks outside the tunnel.
  • To prevent shifting, use a rug or non-slip base and reposition it if it becomes misshapen.

Storage and maintenance

  • Remove hair and dirt after use; shake out or vacuum the interior and folds.
  • Clean with a damp cloth or warm water and mild soap; rinse and allow to air-dry completely.
  • Avoid bleach and abrasive products that could damage the fabrics.
  • Do not fold or store it while damp to prevent mould and bad odours.
  • Store it folded and secured so it doesn't spring open, in a dry, ventilated place and away from heat or direct sunlight.
  • Periodically check seams and rings; trim loose threads and replace the tunnel if the structure gives way or becomes deformed.
  • Do not place weight on top during storage to avoid deforming the structure.

Usage restrictions

  • It is not a carrier or a confinement device; do not leave the pet shut inside.
  • It is not a children's toy; do not allow children to climb in or play inside without supervision.
  • Do not use on elevated surfaces (tables, sofas, beds) or near stairs or drops.
  • Not suitable for pets with a strong tendency to chew and ingest materials.
  • Avoid use with pets that have respiratory issues, reduced mobility or severe anxiety without very close supervision.
  • Do not hang it, modify it, or place heavy objects on top.
  • Stop using it if there are tears, exposed rods, loss of stability, or a persistent chemical smell.
  • Keep it away from flames, heaters, braziers and areas with deep water.
