Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Finger and hand pinch points when placing or removing plates from the bar sleeve or the rack.
- Plates falling or the bar tipping over due to unbalanced loading.
- Plates sliding if suitable collars/clamps are not used or if the diameter is incompatible.
- Impacts to feet and legs while transporting or during plate changes.
- Floor damage and excessive noise when dropped from height.
- Cuts or grazes from damaged edges, burrs or loose inserts.
- Back injuries when lifting plates from the floor with poor technique.
- Loss of grip due to sweat, dust or chalk on the hands or on the plate surface.
- Slips when training on wet or unstable surfaces.
Safe use
- Check the sleeve diameter compatibility and the equipment capacity before loading.
- Inspect each plate before use: cracks, deformations, peeling coating or loose inserts.
- Load and unload symmetrically and progressively on both sides of the bar.
- Always secure the plates with collars/clamps in good condition.
- Hold plates by the edges or handles, keeping fingers clear of pinch/crush zones.
- Keep the work area clear and leave a safety space around you.
- When moving plates, bend your knees and keep a neutral spine; avoid sudden twists with the load.
- Wear closed, stable footwear; dry hands and plates to improve grip.
- Do not release or drop from height unless both the plates and the floor are designed for it.
- For very demanding lifts, it may be prudent to have a training partner to supervise/spot you.
Storage and maintenance
- Store the plates on dedicated racks or stands, placing the heaviest on lower levels.
- Do not overstack or stack on sloped surfaces; avoid unstable stacks.
- Keep them in a dry, ventilated place; wipe off sweat, dust or chalk after use.
- If they get wet, dry them completely; prolonged humidity can promote corrosion or deterioration of the coating.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.
- Periodically check the general condition and remove from use any plates with cracks, looseness or loose/peeling coating.
- Clean them with a soft cloth and mild soap; avoid solvents or abrasive products.
- For transport, use trolleys or hold them with both hands close to the body; do not roll them along the floor.
Usage restrictions
- Do not use the plates as a step, chock, hammer or as a support for heavy objects.
- Do not modify, drill or add accessories not intended by the manufacturer.
- Do not use plates with damaged or incompatible bars, sleeves or machines.
- Avoid use on wet or uneven floors, or near edges where they could fall.
- Do not perform throws or drops from height with plates not designed for it or on floors that are not prepared.
- Keep them out of the reach of children; they are not a toy.
- Do not use them if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or extremely fatigued.
- If pain, dizziness or numbness occurs during use, stop the activity and rest.
- Avoid using them outdoors in the rain or when surfaces are slippery.
