Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Falls and collisions with people, trees, rocks or other obstacles.
  • Loss of control due to excessive speed, bumps or icy surfaces.
  • Blows to the head, wrists or spine from rollovers or sudden braking.
  • Hands, feet or clothing becoming trapped in the runners, handles or ropes.
  • Cuts or scratches from broken edges, protruding screws or damaged parts.
  • Hypothermia or frostbite from prolonged exposure to cold and damp.
  • Collisions with other sledges due to insufficient distance.
  • Danger when approaching roads, car parks, rivers, lakes or embankments.
  • Injuries from improvised jumps or use on slopes that are too steep.

Safe use

  • Check the sledge before each outing: cracks, loose parts, fixings, ropes and runners in good condition.
  • Wear a helmet, gloves, eye protection and waterproof, thermal clothing; footwear with non-slip soles.
  • Choose a wide slope with good visibility, free of trees, rocks and fences, and with a stopping area at the end.
  • Sit correctly and never head first; keep your feet ready to brake or steer according to the sledge’s design.
  • Descend leaving sufficient distance from other users and respect the sledge’s occupant capacity.
  • Avoid sledging in fog or low light, on very hard ice or very uneven surfaces.
  • Do not build ramps or launch yourself from embankments or walls.
  • Do not tow the sledge with motor vehicles; if pulling it on foot, do so at a moderate speed and in safe areas.
  • Teach children to roll to one side to stop if they lose control.
  • Do not consume alcohol or substances that impair reflexes.

Storage and maintenance

  • Remove snow and moisture after use and dry all surfaces thoroughly.
  • Store the sledge in a dry, ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and sources of heat.
  • Regularly check ropes, handles and joints; replace any that show wear, cracks or fraying.
  • Ensure there are no sharp edges or protruding screws; repair or replace the affected part.
  • For transport, avoid dragging it over abrasive surfaces that could damage the runners.
  • Do not place weight on top that could deform it.
  • Keep the sledge out of the reach of children when not in use.

Usage restrictions

  • Do not use on roads, car parks or areas with pedestrian or vehicle traffic.
  • Do not use on frozen rivers or lakes or near bodies of water.
  • Do not perform jumps, stunts or descents on very steep slopes.
  • Do not descend standing up, lying face down or head first.
  • Do not use if the user cannot remain seated securely (babies or very young children).
  • Avoid use in case of pregnancy, recent injuries or back, neck or balance problems.
  • Children must always be under the direct supervision of an adult.
  • Respect the weight limits and number of occupants specified for the product.
  • Do not use at night or in poor visibility, except in areas specifically designated and lit.
