Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Tall or wall-hung furniture falling due to inadequate fixings or an unsuitable wall.
- Columns and tall units tipping over if not fixed to the wall or to each other.
- Finger entrapment in hinges, doors and quick-closing drawers.
- Injury when handling heavy components (worktops, units and built-in appliances).
- Damage from heat or open flame near the worktop and cabinet sides, with a potential fire risk.
- Moisture and leaks that swell boards, damage fittings and encourage mould.
- Objects falling from wall units when doors are opened or shelves are overloaded.
- If the model includes glass fronts or shelves: accidental breakage and cuts.
Safe use
- Always secure furniture to the wall with fixings suitable for the wall type and use all provided fixing points. If you have no experience with fixings, seek qualified help.
- Assemble and hang units with two people; keep the load under control and the area clear.
- Level and align before final tightening. Check the tightness of brackets, hangers and screws.
- Do not overload shelves or drawers; distribute weight and open only one drawer at a time to prevent tipping.
- Maintain safe clearances from hobs, ovens and other heat sources. Use trivets and protectors for hot cookware.
- Protect the worktop: do not cut directly on the surface and wipe up spills immediately, especially around the sink.
- Properly seal exposed edges and cut-outs to reduce moisture ingress.
- Allow ventilation space for built-in appliances as specified to prevent overheating.
- Before drilling, check there are no cables or pipes in the wall.
- Wear gloves during assembly and eye protection when cutting or drilling.
Storage and maintenance
- Store units and worktops in a dry, ventilated, flat position, away from heat sources and moisture.
- Allow parts to acclimatise to the room before installation to minimise warping.
- Keep the packaging until assembly is complete to prevent knocks and scratches.
- Clean with a soft cloth and a neutral detergent; avoid abrasives, metal scourers and products with concentrated ammonia or chlorine.
- Always dry standing water, especially on joints, edges and areas near the sink or dishwasher.
- Check fixings, hinges and runners periodically; re-tighten or adjust if you notice looseness or misalignment.
- If there are glass components, inspect them and replace if cracked or chipped.
Restrictions of use
- Do not use the furniture as a ladder, or sit or stand on worktops, drawers or shelves.
- Do not hang loads from doors or handles beyond their intended capacity, and do not pull drawers sharply.
- Do not install outdoors or in areas with constant humidity without specific protective measures.
- Keep surfaces away from open flames and do not place extremely hot containers directly on the worktop.
- Store cleaning products, sharp utensils and medicines out of the reach of children; consider using safety locks on doors and drawers.
- Avoid storing very heavy loads in wall-hung units unless they are designed for it.
- Water, gas or electrical connections associated with appliances or sinks must be carried out by qualified professionals.
