Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Tipping of the log rack due to overloading, impacts or uneven support.
- Cuts or punctures from sharp edges, screws, welds, staples or wood splinters.
- Muscle injuries when handling heavy or bulky logs.
- Fire due to proximity to flames, sparks or very hot surfaces.
- Logs falling or rolling into walkways.
- Moisture and mould in the firewood, corrosion of metal parts and unpleasant odours.
- Damage to floors and walls from scuffs, rust or dirt.
- Risk to children and pets if they climb, pull on the structure or access loose logs.
- Unintended movement in wheeled models if the wheels are not locked.
Safe use
- Assemble the log rack following the manufacturer’s instructions and ensure all joints are secure.
- Place it on a flat, stable surface; if tall or wall-mounted, anchor it as instructed.
- Keep a safe distance from fireplaces, stoves and radiators; do not block air vents or escape routes.
- Do not overload: adhere to the stated capacity and distribute the logs evenly, without overhang.
- Wear gloves and closed-toe footwear when loading or unloading; lift logs by bending your knees.
- Do not move the log rack when it is full; remove part of the load before moving it.
- On wheeled models, apply the brakes during use and avoid edges or slopes.
- Use protectors or felt pads on the base to protect the floor and improve grip.
- Remove splinters and dust from the area to prevent slips.
- Do not store flammable liquids, lighters or chemicals inside the log rack.
Storage and maintenance
- Preferably store dry, clean firewood; avoid storing damp wood indoors.
- If placed outdoors, protect it from rain with a breathable cover and raise the base to avoid contact with puddles.
- Clean periodically with a soft cloth or vacuum cleaner; dry any moisture and avoid abrasive products.
- Check screws, joints and welds regularly; tighten or replace damaged or loose parts.
- Check for rust or flaking paint on metal models and treat the surface as directed by the manufacturer.
- Replace worn feet, wheels or protectors.
- Watch for insects in the firewood; if detected, store it temporarily outdoors and clean the area.
Restrictions of use
- For storing firewood only; do not use as a seat, step, handrail or for climbing.
- Do not store embers, burning wood or wood that is still hot.
- Do not place on uneven, damp surfaces or near stair edges.
- Respect the log size compatible with the design; do not force parts or wedge the structure.
- Use only in the environment (indoor/outdoor) recommended for the model.
- In homes with children or pets, keep the area supervised and prevent them from handling the logs.
- On wheeled models, do not transport people or anything other than firewood.
- Do not hang pointed or sharp tools on the log rack if they are within reach.
- For wall-mounted models, do not install without the appropriate fixings for the surface type.
