Usage Warnings
Vacuum Filters
Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Exposure to dust, allergens and particles when handling or cleaning dirty filters.
- Overheating or loss of performance of the vacuum cleaner due to a blocked, wet or incorrectly fitted filter.
- Dust leaking into the appliance if the filter does not fit properly or the seals are damaged.
- Deterioration of the filter and dispersion of particles when striking it forcefully or blowing with compressed air.
- Odours and mould growth if a damp filter is reinstalled or stored without drying.
- Minor injuries from rigid edges or plastics when removing or inserting the filter.
- Risk of inhaling fine dust when shaking the filter in enclosed spaces or without protection.
Safe use
- Switch off and unplug the vacuum cleaner and allow it to cool before accessing the filter.
- Remove the filter gently, keeping it facing downwards to minimise dust dispersion.
- If you are sensitive to dust or mites, wear a mask and gloves and carry out the change in a well-ventilated area or outdoors.
- Fit the size and type of filter recommended for your model, without forcing it, checking that it is seated correctly and that the seals are clean and in place.
- Do not use the vacuum cleaner without a filter if it is designed to have one.
- Do not wash filters unless they are specified as washable; if washable, rinse with water only and allow to air-dry completely before reinstalling.
- Avoid banging, vacuuming with another device or blowing the filter media with compressed air, as it may tear or lose effectiveness.
- Replace the filter when you notice loss of suction, persistent dirt, tears, bad odours or as recommended by the manufacturer.
Storage and maintenance
- Store spare filters in their packaging, in a dry, clean place protected from sunlight and heat sources.
- Do not crush, bend or compress filters; any deformation affects sealing and performance.
- After cleaning a washable filter, allow it to dry completely before storing or fitting it to prevent mould and motor damage.
- Clean the filter compartment with a dry or slightly damp cloth and allow to dry before closing.
- Dispose of accumulated dust in a sealed bag to prevent it returning to the environment.
- Periodically check the condition of the filter holder's seals, frames and clips and replace them if deteriorated.
- Keep filters and accessories out of the reach of children and pets.
Restrictions of use
- For adult handling only; do not allow children to install or clean filters.
- Not suitable for hot ashes, fireplace residue, very fine construction dust (plaster, cement, sanding) or soot, unless expressly stated by the vacuum cleaner and filter manufacturer.
- Do not use dry filters for liquid pickup or in wet mode if they are not designed for it.
- Do not modify, cut or adapt the filter to make it fit; use only the type compatible with your model.
- Do not reuse disposable filters or continue using filters with tears, deformations or damaged seals.
- If, after installing a filter, the vacuum cleaner emits a burning smell, makes unusual noises or overheats, stop using it and check it is correctly fitted or replace the filter.
