Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Choking on small parts, beads, bells or detached accessories, especially in children and pets.
- Cuts from broken fragile ornaments (glass, ceramic) or from sharp edges.
- Objects falling due to overloading branches, shelves or hooks, potentially causing injury or damage.
- Fire or burn risk if placed near candles, fireplaces, radiators or other heat sources.
- Entanglement or strangulation with garlands, ribbons, threads and long cords.
- Eye, skin or respiratory irritation from loose glitter, accumulated dust, aerosols or fragrances.
- Accidental ingestion of parts, glitter or fillings by pets.
- If the item includes batteries or light-up components, risk from overheating or ingestion of button batteries.
- Falls when using ladders or reaching high areas during installation.
Safe use
- Check each ornament before use: discard those with cracks, chips, frayed wires or loose parts.
- Place ornaments away from flames, sparks and direct heat; do not place them on or next to candles.
- Distribute the weight on the tree or surface and use hooks or ties appropriate to the size of the ornament.
- Avoid long strings or ties at child height; secure any excess so it does not hang down.
- When installing at height, use a stable ladder, on level ground and do not overreach.
- If using adhesives, suction cups or hooks, observe the maximum load indicated by the manufacturer of the fixing.
- If the product includes aerosols (artificial snow, glitter spray), apply them in well-ventilated areas, away from flames and do not direct them at eyes or skin.
- If the ornament includes batteries, ensure the compartment is securely closed and keep spare batteries out of the reach of children and pets.
- Gently wipe away accumulated dust with a dry cloth to reduce irritation and improve hold.
Storage and maintenance
- Store ornaments in rigid boxes, with dividers or wrapping that prevents knocks and abrasion.
- Keep them in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place, away from damp and heat sources.
- Do not place weight on top of boxes with fragile items and label their contents for careful handling.
- If they have got wet, allow them to dry completely before storing to prevent mould and unpleasant odours.
- Remove the batteries from light-up ornaments before storing them.
- Keep aerosols tightly closed, upright and away from heat or direct sunlight.
- Inspect at the end of the season and safely dispose of items that are broken or have heavily flaking paint.
- Store out of reach of children and pets to prevent accidental opening of boxes.
Restrictions on use
- Ornaments are not toys: do not allow children to play with them or bite or suck them.
- Do not place ornaments or garlands over cots, baby beds or areas where they could fall on people.
- Do not use ornaments to prepare, serve or store food.
- Do not use outdoors unless the product clearly states it is suitable for outdoor use.
- Do not modify, drill or cut ornaments or their fixing systems, as they could come loose or break.
- Do not place decorations where they may obstruct doors, corridors, smoke detectors or exits.
- In homes with curious or climbing pets, avoid placing small, fragile or hanging pieces at low levels.
- Do not apply aerosols near flames, embers or hot surfaces.
