Usage Warnings
Gazebo and Pergola Spare Parts and Accessories
Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Tipping or movement of the structure due to wind, gusts or inadequate anchoring.
- Partial collapse due to incorrect installation, uneven tensioning or incompatible parts.
- Falling bars, panels or fittings during assembly or dismantling.
- Cuts, pinching or knocks when handling metal sections, tensioners, rods and tools.
- Trips over ropes, guy ropes, weighted bases, pegs or loose fixings.
- Heat or flame damage to covers and fabrics if placed near barbecues, heaters or candles.
- Accumulation of water or snow on covers that increases the load and may deform or break the structure.
- Electrical risk if metal parts are raised near overhead lines or drilling is carried out where hidden wiring may be present.
- Mild skin irritation from dust, rust or manufacturing residues when handling spares.
- Strain injuries when lifting or carrying bulky or heavy components.
Safe use
- Check the spare part or accessory is compatible with the model, dimensions and fixing system of your gazebo or pergola.
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions and assemble methodically, ensuring each joint is secure without forcing.
- Work on a stable, clear surface; avoid assembling or dismantling in wind or rain. Ask for help with long parts.
- Secure the structure with anchors suitable for the base material (ground, wall or ballast) and use straps, guy ropes or weighted bases where appropriate.
- Tension the fabrics evenly to prevent water pooling and reduce slack that could catch the wind.
- Keep heat sources and flames away from covers, curtains and ropes.
- Wear gloves when handling metal and goggles when drilling; use tools in good condition and suited to the type of fixing.
- Use a stable ladder and do not climb onto the structure. Secure parts before letting go.
- Do not hang heavy objects or sit on bars or cross-members; distribute any decorative additions sparingly.
- Check the surroundings before driving in pegs or drilling to avoid buried services or hidden wiring.
Storage and maintenance
- Periodically inspect screws, joints, straps and guy ropes; re-tighten them and replace worn, deformed or rusty parts immediately.
- Clean covers and parts with water and mild soap; rinse and dry thoroughly to prevent mould and odours.
- Remove accumulated water or snow from covers as soon as it is safe to do so.
- When not in use, store and protect fabrics from prolonged exposure to sun and weather.
- Store clean, dry spares and covers in a ventilated place, away from sources of heat and moisture.
- Avoid sharp creases in fabrics; roll them and use protective covers to prevent abrasion and tears.
- Lightly lubricate moving mechanisms where appropriate, avoiding products that could damage plastics or rubber.
- After episodes of strong winds, check anchoring, tensioning and any potential damage before using again.
Usage restrictions
- Do not use the gazebo or pergola in strong winds, electrical storms, hail or heavy snow; fold or remove covers where possible.
- Do not use these products as permanent structures unless they are designed for that purpose.
- Do not modify, drill or cut parts without explicit instructions from the manufacturer; avoid mixing spares from models or brands not confirmed as compatible.
- Do not climb, hang from or allow play on bars, ropes or covers.
- Keep small parts, fixings and plastic packaging out of reach of children and pets; supervise during assembly.
- Maintain safe distances from power lines and wiring; do not install beneath overhead lines.
- If the accessory requires structural fixing to a wall, slab or delicate flooring, a qualified installer may be necessary.
