Usage Warnings

Plant Stands

Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Stand tipping over or pot falling due to excessive weight, unsuitable size, impacts or wind.
  • Instability on uneven, wet or sloped surfaces, with a risk of trips or slips.
  • Breakages due to wear, corrosion or looseness in screws, joints, hinges or welds.
  • Cuts or pinches on folding models or those with moving parts.
  • Wall-mounted or hanging supports falling due to insufficient fixings or unsuitable walls.
  • Stains, rust or marks on the floor due to water build-up or lack of protective caps on the legs.
  • Risk to children and pets if they climb, pull on the plant or collide with the stand.

Safe use

  • Check the stated load capacity and take into account the total weight of the pot, growing medium and water.
  • Choose a wide base for tall pots and place the load centred; on shelving, position the heaviest on the lower levels.
  • Install on a flat, firm surface; avoid step edges, railings or areas with heavy footfall.
  • In windy outdoor conditions, prefer lower or heavier pots and, if applicable, secure the stand according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • For wall-mounted or hanging supports, use fixings suitable for the wall type and check they are secure before loading.
  • If the stand has legs with caps or stoppers, make sure they are fitted and in good condition to prevent slipping and scratching.
  • Manage watering to prevent overflow: use saucers or protective mats and remove excess water to avoid slips and leaks.
  • Keep hands away from hinges and latches when opening or folding.

Storage and maintenance

  • Regularly clean off soil, leaves and moisture; dry after watering to reduce corrosion and mould.
  • Regularly check screws, nuts, hinges and joints; tighten and replace damaged or rusted parts.
  • Check the condition of the legs and protective feet or caps; replace any that are worn to preserve stability and the floor.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to standing water; if the stand becomes soaked, allow it to dry in a ventilated place.
  • Protect or shelter during episodes of frost, storms or extreme heat to extend its lifespan.
  • Store folding models with the closure secured and carry them by holding the main frame.
  • If there is deformation, cracks or advanced corrosion, stop using it until repaired or replaced.

Restrictions on use

  • Do not use as a seat, step, table, or as a support for items unrelated to the plant.
  • Do not exceed the load capacity or pot size recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Do not install hanging or wall-mounted units over walkways if the fixings are not secure; on balconies, avoid positioning them facing outwards without a specific fixing system.
  • Do not place next to heat sources, barbecues or open flames.
  • Do not modify the structure (drilling, cutting or welding) in ways that could compromise its stability.
  • Do not use on fragile or unsuitable surfaces that could be damaged by weight or moisture.
  • Keep out of reach of small children and pets; provide extra supervision with tall or hanging supports.
