Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Risk of choking and strangulation with plastic sheeting, elastic cords and cable ties, especially for children and pets.
- Cuts and punctures when handling edges, staples, frame profiles or fastening tools.
- Falls and impacts during installation due to the use of ladders, slippery surfaces or awkward postures.
- Injuries from snap-back of tensioners, bungee cords or clips that release suddenly.
- Detachment or breakage in high winds, storms or from the build-up of water/snow, with a risk of property damage.
- Overheating inside the greenhouse if ventilation is blocked, causing discomfort to anyone entering and stress to plants.
- Fire risk and material deformation if brought close to flames or intense heat sources.
Safe use
- Check that the cover is compatible with the dimensions and type of structure before installation to avoid undue stress.
- Install on calm days, preferably without wind, and keep the work area clear.
- Wear sturdy gloves and eye protection when tensioning, fastening or cutting cable ties and cords.
- For large covers, work with assistance and use stable ladders placed on a firm surface.
- Apply tension gradually and evenly; do not force zips or eyelets. Protect frame edges to prevent chafing and tears.
- Secure all attachment points and check the greenhouse anchors. Recheck after the first 24–48 hours.
- Keep doors and vents clear to allow ventilation and safe access.
- Carefully remove snow, leaves and standing water when safe to do so to reduce loads on the structure.
- Keep the cover away from heaters, braziers, barbecues, spotlights and other heat sources.
Storage and maintenance
- Clean with water and mild soap using a soft cloth; avoid solvents, alcohols and abrasive scouring pads.
- Rinse and dry completely before folding or rolling to prevent mould and odours.
- Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight; avoid extreme temperatures and humidity.
- Do not place heavy objects on top and avoid sharp creases that could cause cracking over time.
- Periodically check seams, eyelets, zips, bungees and cable ties; replace damaged items.
- Keep the cover away from fertilisers, oils and other chemicals that may degrade the material.
- Use a protective cover or storage bag where possible and protect against rodents and insects.
- During periods of severe weather, consider removing the cover as a precaution if the crop allows.
Restrictions of use
- Not designed to bear weight: do not climb, sit or lean on the cover.
- Do not use as a transport tarpaulin, as a canopy for heat sources, or as a safety device.
- Do not install or handle during strong winds, heavy rain or electrical storms.
- Keep away from open flames, barbecues, cigarettes and equipment that emits intense heat.
- Do not pierce, cut or modify unless explicitly permitted by the product.
- Do not use on unstable structures or with defective anchors.
- Do not enclose spaces with people or animals present without adequate ventilation due to the risk of overheating.
- Do not leave the sheeting or packaging materials within reach of children and pets.
