Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Surface overheating on sunny days, with a risk of minor burns to skin and pets' paws.
- Melting or fire ignition from contact with embers, sparks, cigarette ends or heat-emitting equipment.
- Slips when the turf is wet, icy, or covered with algae or dirt.
- Trips due to misaligned seams, wrinkles, or lifted edges.
- Cuts and strains when handling heavy rolls or using cutting tools.
- Mild irritation from dust/fibres or from adhesive fumes in poorly ventilated spaces.
- Pooling and bad odours if drainage is insufficient.
- Accidental ingestion of offcuts or small pieces by children or pets.
- Occasional electrostatic discharges in very dry environments.
- Dropping of tools or materials during installation on balconies and terraces.
Safe use
- Prepare a clean, firm and as level a base as possible; remove stones, glass and sharp objects.
- Lay out the material without tension and check alignment before fixing. Secure edges and seams according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Ensure good drainage: do not cover gullies or drains and avoid creating areas where water can accumulate.
- Keep barbecues, fire pits and hot appliances at a distance; use suitable protective surfaces and avoid smoking directly on the turf.
- Wear protective gloves and goggles when cutting; handle rolls with several people or use trolleys to avoid injury.
- If using adhesives or infill sand, ventilate the area well and avoid contact with skin and eyes.
- Immediately remove offcuts, cable ties, staples and other debris so there are no loose pieces left.
- If the surface is wet, walk with non-slip footwear and avoid running or jumping.
- On very hot days, cool the surface with water before prolonged use by children or pets.
- On balconies/terraces, secure tools and materials so they cannot fall outside, and do not rest rolls on railings.
- Fit caps or wide bases to furniture legs to prevent punctures or marks.
Storage and maintenance
- Store rolls in a dry, ventilated place, away from heat sources and prolonged direct sunlight.
- Avoid crushing and extreme bending; store on a flat, clear surface.
- Keep plastics and packaging materials out of the reach of children.
- Brush periodically in different directions to lift the fibre and remove dust and leaves.
- Clean with water and neutral soap; rinse thoroughly. Avoid concentrated bleach, solvents and abrasive products.
- Remove oil, paint or grease stains immediately with absorbent paper; do not scrape with sharp objects.
- Avoid using pressure washers very close to the fibres or at excessive pressure.
- Periodically check seams, fixings and edges; repair any loose areas to prevent trips.
- Keep drains clear; if bad odours or algae appear, clean and allow the area to dry completely.
- After frequent contact with chlorine or salt (pools or coastal areas), rinse with fresh water.
Restrictions of use
- Do not use as a surface for barbecues, fire pits, fireplaces, fireworks or tools that generate sparks or intense heat.
- Do not install on ground that does not allow minimum drainage or presents persistent damp without specific solutions.
- Do not use in areas with vehicle traffic or to support heavy machinery.
- Do not use as the only impact-absorbing surface in play areas with a risk of falls from height.
- Do not allow contact with solvents, acids, fuels, fresh paint or other aggressive chemicals.
- Do not pierce with stakes or place furniture with pointed legs that could damage the base or hidden installations.
- Do not drag heavy furniture across the surface; lift it to move it.
- Do not install on steep slopes without adequate fixing systems.
- Do not leave small children or pets unsupervised if there are loose pieces, staples or other small accessories.
- Do not smoke or stub out cigarettes on the artificial turf.
