Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Accidental high-pressure grease injection into skin from leaks or poorly secured couplers.
  • Hose whip or rupture due to wear, kinks or overpressure.
  • Parts being ejected (nozzles, couplers, rigid tubes) if not properly secured.
  • Slips and falls due to grease spills on the floor or on hands.
  • Burns from contact with hot vehicle or machinery surfaces.
  • Entanglement or impact injuries when lubricating near moving parts.
  • Damage to seals and bearings from over-greasing or excessive pressure.
  • Skin or eye irritation from contact with greases or additives.
  • Electric shock or sparking hazard with electric/battery-powered models near flammable vapours.
  • Exposure to noise and compressed air from pneumatic equipment.

Safe use

  • Switch off and secure the equipment to be lubricated before starting; wait for surfaces to cool.
  • Wear oil-resistant goggles and gloves; keep hands away from the nozzle while under pressure.
  • Never point the nozzle at skin; keep your body out of any potential leak path.
  • Check the condition of hoses, seals, couplers and grease nipples before each use; replace them if damaged.
  • Correctly secure the coupler to the grease nipple and hold the tool firmly before pumping.
  • Use greases and accessories compatible with the equipment and the lubrication point; avoid mixing different greases unless compatibility is confirmed.
  • Do not use improvised extensions or increase the lever arm; avoid impacts or twisting on the head.
  • For pneumatic equipment, set the inlet pressure as specified by the manufacturer and disconnect the air supply before changing accessories.
  • For electric/battery-powered models, do not work with wet hands or in the rain; charge only with the designated charger and keep ventilation slots clean.
  • Clean excess grease and any spills immediately to prevent slips and build-up of dirt.

Storage and maintenance

  • Release system pressure after use and fit protective caps on nozzles and hoses to prevent contamination.
  • Store the pump in a dry, clean and stable place, away from heat sources and open flames.
  • Avoid bending or crushing the hoses; inspect them periodically and replace them if they show cracks, bulges or leaks.
  • Keep grease cartridges closed and clean; store greases in their original containers, protected from dust and moisture.
  • Clean the head, the coupler and the threads to remove hardened grease and ensure a good seal.
  • Check the condition of seals, valves and accessories at reasonable intervals; replace worn components.
  • If changing the cartridge or grease type, bleed the air according to the manufacturer’s instructions to avoid flow issues.
  • For battery-powered equipment, charge and store the battery following the manufacturer’s recommendations; do not store damaged or deeply discharged batteries for prolonged periods.
  • Label the pump or accessories when assigned to a specific grease type to avoid inadvertent mixing.

Restrictions on use

  • Do not use the pump with fuels, solvents or other unintended liquids; it is designed for suitable lubricating greases.
  • Do not exceed the maximum pressure stated for the tool, hoses, couplers and grease nipples; do not override or disable relief valves.
  • Do not work near sources of ignition or in atmospheres with flammable vapours with electric/battery-powered models, or when an oil aerosol may be generated.
  • Do not modify the tool or use improvised adapters or couplers that are not designed for high pressure.
  • Do not use hoses, nozzles or couplers that are deteriorated, corroded or have damaged threads.
  • Do not grease with the engine running or with moving parts exposed.
  • Do not allow use by minors; for trainees, perform the task under supervision until they gain experience.
  • Do not mix incompatible greases; if compatibility is unknown, clean the lubrication point before refilling.
