Main risks

• Tipping or movement due to wind gusts if the base is insufficient or the ground is uneven.

• Breakage of ribs or canopy fabric due to excessive tension or water pooling on the canopy.
• Deterioration from prolonged exposure to sun, moisture or salt spray, which can reduce the strength of the fabric and joints.
• Splinters on wooden poles or sharp edges on damaged parts.
• Residual sun exposure under shade; shade does not block all UV radiation.

Safe use

• Use a compatible base with sufficient weight for the parasol size and site conditions; check stability before use.
• Place the assembly on a firm, level surface, away from edges, stairs or areas with strong air currents.
• Open and close slowly, keeping hands clear of ribs, hinges and pivot points; do not force the mechanisms.
• Allow clear space above and around before opening or tilting the parasol to avoid striking ceilings, walls or furniture.
• Keep a safe distance from barbecues, outdoor heaters, heat lamps and open flames.
• Remove any pooled water on the canopy immediately to prevent deformation or collapse.
• Close and secure the parasol when not in use, at night or if high winds, heavy rain or storms are forecast.
• Do not hang items from the pole or ribs (lights, planters, bags, heaters), as they compromise balance.
• In thoroughfares, mark or cover the base to reduce the risk of tripping.
• Consider additional sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses), especially during peak UV hours.

Storage and maintenance

• Clean the canopy and frame periodically with lukewarm water and mild soap; avoid abrasive products or high-pressure jets.
• Allow to dry completely before folding or covering to prevent mould and odours.
• Store the parasol indoors or in a breathable cover during prolonged periods without use or in bad-weather seasons.
• Regularly check screws, joints, ribs and seams; tighten or replace worn or damaged parts.
• Lightly lubricate moving parts if permitted by the manufacturer, avoiding contact with the canopy fabric.
• Inspect the base and ballast for cracks or looseness; replace them if stability is compromised.
• After use in marine environments, rinse metal components to minimise corrosion from salt spray.
• Disassemble and transport with care; avoid dragging the base to prevent damage to floors or fixings.

Usage restrictions

• Do not use the parasol in strong winds, storms or during electrical activity; close it and secure it under cover.
• Do not use the parasol as a permanent structure or to bear loads (snow, standing water, hanging objects).
• Do not stand on, climb or allow children to play with the mechanism; supervise children when opening or closing.
• Do not modify the structure (drilling, cutting, improvised counterweights) or replace parts with others not specified for the model.
• Do not place the parasol too close to heat sources, sparks or flames.
• Do not use it on surfaces where a stable base cannot be secured.
• In high-traffic areas (terraces or commercial spaces), increase the securing or anchoring of the base and fold the parasol away when unattended.
• If the model includes electrical components (e.g., integrated lighting), avoid exposure to water and disconnect before folding, following the product instructions.
