Awning Spare Parts and Accessories
Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Falls or impacts during installation when handling heavy arms, brackets and shafts.
- Trapping and pinch injuries when articulated arms and tensioning mechanisms deploy or fold.
- Injuries from the sudden release of pre-tensioned springs or cables under load.
- Risk of electric shock or short circuits in motors, switches and sensors.
- Awning detachment due to unsuitable fixings or use of incompatible parts.
- Cuts from sharp metal edges, screws or profiles.
- Damage from wind or rain when testing the system without full anchoring or with untensioned fabric.
- Fire risk if the fabric or plastics are exposed to flames or high temperatures.
- Falls from height when working on ladders or unstable surfaces.
Safe use
- Verify the replacement part is compatible with the awning model: dimensions, operating side, mounting type and associated accessories.
- Read and follow the product instructions before you start; identify each part and its orientation.
- Work in a clear area; use a stable ladder and, if the part is bulky, carry out the manoeuvre with two people.
- Disconnect the power supply and disable automation systems and remote controls before handling electrical or moving components.
- Lock or secure the arms to prevent unexpected movement; release the tension following the specified procedure.
- Wear gloves and eye protection; handle profiles and fabrics away from the sharp edges of tools.
- Use screws and wall plugs suitable for the wall or ceiling material; do not cross-thread or overtighten.
- Check the fixing area to avoid drilling into hidden pipes or cables.
- After assembly, perform short, controlled tests, with no people or objects beneath the awning.
- Do not hang additional weight from arms, profiles, crank handles or sensors.
Storage and maintenance
- Store spare parts and tools in a dry, ventilated place and out of reach of children and pets.
- Ensure fabrics and straps are completely dry before rolling them up to prevent mould and odours.
- Clean fabrics and profiles with water and neutral soap; avoid solvents, bleach or abrasive products.
- Periodically check screws, pins, cords and brackets; retighten or replace if there is play, rust or wear.
- Lubricate moving points if applicable and in small amounts, avoiding contact with the fabric.
- Protect motors, connectors and sensors from water ingress; check the condition of seals and caps.
- In coastal or high-pollution areas, rinse with fresh water to reduce corrosion.
- Store painted parts and fabrics protected from direct sunlight and heat sources.
Restrictions of use
- Do not use or test the awning in strong winds, storms, snow or with water pooling on the fabric.
- Do not install replacement parts on damaged brackets or on unstable walls without fixing systems appropriate to the substrate.
- Do not modify, drill or cut arms, brackets or shafts; use only the holes and adjustments provided by the manufacturer.
- Do not mix parts from different brands or series unless their compatibility is confirmed.
- Do not reuse deformed, stripped or rusted fasteners.
- Do not leave cords, straps or crank handles hanging within reach of children, and keep children and pets away during assembly and testing.
- Keep fabrics and plastics away from barbecues, stoves, fireplaces and other heat sources.
- Operations involving pre-tensioned springs, complex arm adjustments, and any fixed electrical connections must be carried out by qualified personnel.
