Usage Warnings

Desk Organisers

Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Tip-over of the organiser or falling objects due to overloading or poor placement on the edge of the desk.
  • Cuts or scratches caused by sharp edges, pronounced corners or broken parts (e.g., acrylic or glass).
  • Finger trapping in drawers, lids or modules that slam shut.
  • Damage to the furniture surface from adhesives, suction cups or clamps that are poorly positioned or removed abruptly.
  • Blocking the ventilation of computers or other equipment by placing the organiser on top or too close.
  • Interference with or erasure of magnetic stripe cards due to integrated magnets; added risk if there are children or pets who may handle small parts.
  • Snags or tugs on cables if unsuitable cable routes are forced.

Safe use

  • Place the organiser on a flat, stable and dry surface; avoid resting it on edges or unstable shelves.
  • Do not exceed the load capacity; distribute weight evenly and place heavier items at the bottom.
  • If fixing with adhesive or a clamp, clean and dry the surface first, apply as per the instructions and check the fastening regularly.
  • Ensure the base does not slip; if the model includes non-slip pads or feet, position them correctly.
  • Keep the vents and air outlets of computers and other devices clear; do not rest the organiser on equipment with ventilation.
  • Open and close drawers or lids by holding them in the intended area and keep fingers away from hinges and runners.
  • Store scissors, utility knives or sharp objects with a sheath or protected tip to prevent cuts and punctures.
  • If magnets are included, keep them away from magnetic stripe cards and sensitive equipment; bring magnetised parts together carefully to avoid pinching.
  • Organise cables without straining or crushing them; use cable grommets only if they fit without forcing.

Storage and maintenance

  • Clean with a soft cloth lightly dampened with mild soap; dry thoroughly. Avoid scouring pads, abrasive products and solvents.
  • Remove dust and grit frequently to prevent scratches and jams in runners or drawers.
  • Periodically check screws, clamps, joints and adhesives; retighten or replace any deteriorated components.
  • Avoid excessive wetting or submersion; keep the product in a dry environment to prevent warping, corrosion or mould, depending on the material.
  • Protect from direct sunlight and heat sources that may discolour or deform plastics, wood or adhesives.
  • When relocating, empty the contents and hold it by the base to avoid twisting and drops.
  • If not in use for a time, store in a stable position, wrapped to prevent scratches and out of the reach of children.

Restrictions on use

  • Not a toy; keep out of reach of young children and pets, especially if there are small parts or magnets.
  • Do not climb on, sit on, or use the organiser as a step or support.
  • Do not use to support heavy or hot devices (e.g., heaters) or containers with liquids in areas where a tip-over could affect electronic equipment.
  • Do not install on fragile or uneven surfaces, or on freshly painted finishes; if using adhesives, test first in a discreet area.
  • Maintain a safe distance between powerful magnets and active medical implants; if in doubt, avoid direct exposure.
  • Designed for dry indoor use; avoid the outdoors and very humid environments.
