Main risks

  • Detachment of racquet-mounted accessories (vibration dampeners, guards, tapes or counterweights) that may be flung off during shots.
  • Loss of grip or control if the grip/overgrip is poorly installed or very damp, with risk of falls or blisters.
  • Skin irritation or allergies from contact with materials, dyes, adhesives, resins, magnesium or latex present in some products.
  • Choking or accidental ingestion of small parts (vibration dampeners, string savers, end caps) by children or pets.
  • Minor pinches or cuts when handling baskets and ball hoppers with hinges, rods or springs.
  • Trips and falls due to cones, line markers, bands or other training elements placed on court.
  • Recoil injuries when tensioning elastic bands or training cords that are poorly anchored.
  • Damage to the frame or strings if weights or accessories are attached in areas not specified.
  • Accidental inhalation of grip-enhancing powders or aerosols if applied near the face or without ventilation.

Safe use

  • Review the specific instructions for each accessory and confirm its compatibility with your racquet or with the playing surface.
  • Secure each piece firmly and check before starting that there are no loose parts, raised edges or cracks.
  • For self-adhesive or weighted accessories: apply on clean, dry surfaces, avoid prolonged contact with the skin and wash your hands after handling them.
  • With vibration dampeners and other small parts: fit them until they are secure and keep spares stored to avoid them scattering on court.
  • If you use grip sprays, resins or powders: apply sparingly, in ventilated areas, away from the face; avoid inhalation and contact with eyes or wounds.
  • During drills with cones, markers or bands: clear the pathway, remove what you are not using and avoid stepping over the items.
  • Check baskets and ball hoppers before loading; keep fingers away from hinges and springs during use and folding.
  • Immediately replace any accessory that is cracked, deformed or comes loose easily.

Storage and maintenance

  • Remove sweat and dirt from grips, wristbands and tapes; allow to air-dry before storing.
  • Store adhesives, rubbers and rubber parts in their sealed container, in a cool, dry place, away from heat and direct sunlight.
  • Keep aerosols and liquids tightly closed, upright and away from sources of heat or flame.
  • Periodically check that there are no cracks, raised edges, rust on wires or breaks in elastic bands.
  • Store cones, markers and baskets with no weight placed on top to prevent deformation or breakage.
  • Safely dispose of worn small parts to prevent accidental ingestion by children or pets.

  • Do not place accessories that interfere with the stringing, grommets or balance of the racquet beyond what is specified by the manufacturer.
  • Do not use elastic bands or cords if they show cracks, wear or loss of elasticity.
  • Avoid applying adhesives or weights to irritated skin or directly onto skin.
  • Do not use these accessories as toys or for purposes other than their intended use in tennis.
