Main risks

• Fires and burns from open flames, embers, stoves or cigarettes near or inside the tent.
• Suffocation and gas poisoning (including carbon monoxide) from cooking or heating without adequate ventilation.
• Tent collapse, tearing or shifting due to strong winds, heavy rain, snow or storms.
• Trips and falls on guy lines, pegs, cords and fabric edges, especially at night.
• Injuries while pitching or taking down due to tensioned poles, hammer blows and cuts from pegs.
• Hypothermia or overheating due to poor site choice, insufficient ventilation or prolonged sun exposure.
• Flooding inside from pitching in areas with poor drainage, dry streambeds, hollows or on the tideline.
• Risk during electrical storms on summits, open clearings or exposed beaches.

Safe use

• Read and follow the model's instructions before first use; practise pitching in a safe environment.
• Choose a flat, firm, well-drained pitch, away from watercourses, unstable slopes, dead branches, and from the tideline on the beach.
• Position the entrance leeward and secure the tent with pegs and guy lines suited to the ground; add extra anchor points if gusts are expected.
• Maintain ventilation at all times: open vents and doors partially where possible to reduce condensation and prevent gas build-up.
• Do not cook or use heaters, candles or flames inside the tent; use LED lighting and cook outside at a safe distance.
• Tension the fabric evenly, without stressing poles or seams; check guy lines and pegs periodically.
• Mark guy lines and cords with reflective markers or lights in walkways to prevent trips.
• Remove stones and sharp objects from the ground and, if compatible with your model, use a groundsheet protector (footprint).
• During pitching and taking down, keep children and pets away from poles and pegs; wear gloves if needed.

Storage and maintenance

• Thoroughly dry the tent and guy lines before storage to prevent mould, bad odours and deterioration of fabrics and coatings.
• Clean dirt, sand and salt with lukewarm water and mild soap; avoid bleach, solvents, a washing machine and a tumble dryer.
• When used at the beach, rinse zips and fittings to remove salt and sand; allow to air-dry.
• Before each trip, check poles, shock cords, seams, guy lines, pegs and zips; replace damaged parts.
• Renew the water repellency and seam sealing when you notice loss of waterproofing, using products appropriate to the fabric.
• Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
• Avoid keeping it over-compressed for long periods; store poles and pegs in sleeves or pouches to prevent them from puncturing the fabric.
• Repair small tears with appropriate patches before they spread; lubricate zips with suitable zip wax if they jam.

Usage restrictions

• Do not use indoors, in garages or in enclosed, unventilated spaces.
• Do not use stoves, braziers, generators, heaters or candles inside the tent; do not smoke inside.
• Do not use as a shelter in severe weather conditions (very strong winds, electrical storms, heavy snowfall or extreme temperatures).
• Do not exceed the recommended occupancy, or hang heavy loads from the poles or frame.
• Do not pitch on fragile, slippery or unstable surfaces, or in areas prone to flooding or on the tideline.
• Do not modify the structure, puncture the fabric, or carry out DIY repairs that could weaken it.
• Do not leave children or pets alone inside, especially in heat, severe cold or with the tent fully closed.
• In case of a thunderstorm, avoid summits, isolated trees and open beaches; seek a lower, safer area until conditions improve.
