Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Falls from height when leaning out or cleaning the exterior, especially on upper floors.
  • Fingers or hands trapped in hinges, frames and tracks, especially on casement or sliding models.
  • Cuts from broken glass due to impacts, sudden closing or thermal stress.
  • Injuries from unexpected closing of the sash caused by draughts or wind.
  • Injuries during handling and transport due to the weight of the unit and sharp edges on frames and fittings.
  • Objects falling outside during ventilation or cleaning.
  • Water ingress through poorly closed or damaged windows, with a risk of slips and interior damage.

Safe use

  • Open and close using the handle without forcing; do not push on the glass or use tools to lever it.
  • Keep hands clear of hinges, tracks and locking points; check there are no obstructions before closing.
  • On windy or draughty days, hold the sash and use stops or restrictors if the product includes them.
  • To clean the exterior at height, use tilt/turn positions if available or long-handled tools; avoid leaning your body out through the opening.
  • Do not sit on or lean on the windowsill or hang your weight from the sash.
  • Position furniture so that children and pets cannot climb up to the open window.
  • If you detect play, unusual noises, cracked glass or locks that do not engage, stop using it until it has been inspected or repaired by qualified personnel.
  • During handling or installation, do so with two people when necessary and use protective gloves and suitable footwear.

Storage and maintenance

  • Before installation, store windows vertically on a flat, stable base, with protection between pieces and away from walkways.
  • Avoid impacts, vibration, moisture and prolonged direct exposure to the sun; do not place weight on the edge of the glass.
  • Protect corners and fittings during transport and storage; do not remove protective coverings until the time of installation, if present.
  • Periodically clean frames, seals and tracks to remove dust and dirt that hinder closing.
  • Lightly lubricate the fittings and hinges only if indicated by the manufacturer; avoid abrasive products or strong solvents.
  • Check that locks, stops and restrictors operate smoothly; adjust or replace damaged or loose components.
  • If the glass is broken, seals are deteriorated or fittings are deformed, do not use the window and arrange replacement with a qualified service.

Restrictions on use

  • Do not use the window as a support, ladder, anchor or to hang heavy objects (plant pots, washing lines, etc.).
  • Do not remove or disable stops, child locks or opening restrictors if present.
  • Do not force opening or closing if there is ice, paint, dirt or foreign objects in the tracks; de-ice or clean first.
  • Do not install incompatible accessories that interfere with closing or ventilation; use only items suitable for the model.
  • Do not allow unsupervised operation by children or vulnerable people, especially at height.
  • Do not obstruct the opening with furniture, bars or enclosures when the window is used as an escape route.
  • Do not strike the glass with objects or use the sash to support loads.
