  • Entanglement or strangulation with straps, cords, ropes and decoy lines.
  • Hearing damage from exposure to loud noise (gunshots or high-volume electronic callers).
  • Skin or eye irritation, or accidental ingestion of attractants, repellents, oils and cleaners.
  • Eye injury from improper use of lasers, rangefinders or high-powered torches.
  • Risk of fire or explosion with flammable aerosols and solvents.
  • Leaks, overheating or short circuits in batteries for torches, cameras and other devices.
  • Reduced visibility to others due to camouflage, with possible confusion with wildlife.
  • Overexertion and injuries from poorly distributed loads in backpacks, drags or gear carriers.

Safe use

  • Check that the accessory is compatible with your equipment and respect its rated load capacity.
  • Before mounting, adjusting or cleaning firearm accessories, keep the firearm unloaded, with the safety engaged and pointed in a safe direction.
  • Wear protective gloves and eye protection when handling knives, arrowheads and tools; always cut away from your body and store blades in their sheath.
  • Adjust straps, harnesses and gear carriers with no slack; avoid loops or loose ends that could snag.
  • On elevated stands, use a harness and suitable anchor points; ascend and descend calmly, maintaining secure handholds and footholds.
  • Secure decoys, stakes and tripods firmly to prevent tipping; keep walkways clear.
  • With lasers and rangefinders, do not aim at eyes, people, vehicles or aircraft; with torches, avoid dazzling others.
  • Protect your hearing with suitable hearing protection when there is loud noise.
  • Handle attractants, repellents and cleaners in well-ventilated areas; avoid contact with skin and eyes, do not inhale or ingest them, and wash your hands after use.
  • Keep chemicals and baits away from children, pets and food; avoid spills and overapplication.
  • Use the recommended type of batteries; do not mix new and used batteries or different chemistries, and observe the installation polarity.
  • If an accessory shows cracks, looseness, rust or damaged stitching, do not use it until the affected part is replaced or repaired.

Storage and maintenance

  • Remove mud and moisture after each use and dry thoroughly before storing to prevent corrosion and mould.
  • Store knives, arrowheads and sharp tools in rigid sheaths, locked away and out of reach of children and pets.
  • Keep aerosols, attractants and solvents tightly closed, upright and in a cool, ventilated place, away from heat and flames.
  • Remove the batteries if you are not going to use the device for a prolonged period; store them with the terminals protected.
  • Periodically check seams, buckles, carabiners, clips, screws and rails; replace worn or cracked components.
  • Keep textiles, nets and camouflage away from sparks and open flames.
  • Protect metal surfaces with suitable maintenance products and follow their directions.
  • Clean optics and lenses with specific lens cloths to prevent scratches.
  • Store backpacks, cases and ropes hung up or laid out to avoid permanent creases.
  • Transport sharp or heavy accessories in cases or sheaths that prevent movement inside the vehicle.

Restrictions on use

  • Not a toy: keep out of reach of children; children should only handle accessories under adult supervision.
  • Do not use accessories if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or when extremely fatigued.
  • Avoid use when strong wind, rain or ice compromise stability or visibility.
  • Do not modify accessories or improvise repairs with unsuitable parts.
  • Do not exceed the load capacity of backpacks, harnesses, mounts or pulleys.
  • Do not direct lasers or powerful lights towards people, domestic animals or traffic.
  • Do not apply chemicals in food-preparation areas or near water sources; do not pour residues into the environment.

  • Do not place decoys or camouflage on paths used by people or vehicles.
  • If an activity involves height or remote areas, avoid doing it alone and inform someone of your location.
