Usage Warnings

Waterproof Suits

Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Water ingress due to poorly adjusted closures, chilling the body and reducing mobility.
  • Slips and falls on wet surfaces if footwear is not slip-resistant or if the hem of the suit covers the sole.
  • Snagging on edges, nails or moving parts of machinery.
  • Reduced field of vision and hearing when using the hood.
  • Thermal stress: overheating due to low breathability or rapid cooling with wind and internal moisture.
  • Skin irritation from accumulated sweat or sensitivity to certain materials.
  • Burns or melting of the material in the presence of sparks, flames or hot surfaces.
  • Buoyancy difficulties and increased weight when soaked; does not provide buoyancy.
  • Contamination of clothing or skin if handling dirty water without adequate cleaning afterwards.

Safe use

  • Choose the correct size and fit; fasten zips, flaps, hook-and-loop fasteners, cuffs and ankles securely as per the design.
  • Inspect before use: sealed seams, closures, cracks, and any stiffness or stickiness of the material.
  • Pair with slip-resistant footwear and other equipment suitable for the environment (gloves, helmet, eye protection, reflective elements).
  • Keep drawcords, straps and loose parts secured to prevent snagging.
  • Adjust the hood without obstructing peripheral vision or hearing; reinforce visual communication if necessary.
  • Manage exertion and heat: take breaks to ventilate and drink water in hot environments.
  • Avoid proximity to open flames, sparks, welding and hot surfaces.
  • In areas with a risk of falling into water, use a separate buoyancy device.
  • Follow the suit’s design for overlap with boots and gloves, minimising water ingress.

Storage and maintenance

  • Wash after heavy use with fresh water and neutral soap; rinse especially after contact with salt, mud or liquids.
  • Air-dry in the shade, hanging or laid flat; do not use a tumble dryer, radiators or an iron.
  • Store in a cool, ventilated place, without weight on top and without sharp folds that could crack the material.
  • Keep zips and closures free of sand and dirt; check they operate smoothly.
  • Inspect periodically and replace if there are cracks, stiffness, stickiness, detached seams or loss of waterproofing.
  • If exposed to wastewater, oils or other substances, wash separately and dry completely to prevent odours and mould.

Restrictions on use

  • Not flame-retardant or resistant to high temperatures; do not use near heat sources, sparks or spatter.
  • Does not replace specific chemical, thermal, electrical, buoyancy or high-visibility protection.
  • Not suitable for prolonged immersion, diving or underwater work.
  • Avoid prolonged contact with oils, fuels and solvents unless expressly indicated by the manufacturer.
  • Do not use the suit if it is damaged or if you notice persistent leaks.
  • Do not modify the product or puncture it to attach accessories.
  • Product intended for use by adults in work environments; not for use by children.
