Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Inhalation of vapours and odours that may cause discomfort, irritation or headache, especially in poorly ventilated spaces.
- Skin or eye irritation from splashes or prolonged contact with the paint and associated cleaners.
- Risk of fire when using solvent-based paints or solvents near naked flames, sparks or while smoking.
- Slips, trips or falls due to wet floors, spills or the use of unstable ladders.
- Inhalation of dust when sanding surfaces, especially older layers of paint.
- Damage to furniture, floors and sockets from splashes or drips.
- Accidental ingestion of product by children or pets.
Safe use
- Ventilate well during application and drying. Open windows and doors to promote air circulation.
- Wear gloves, eye protection and a suitable mask or respirator for vapours or particles, according to the product and task (application or sanding).
- Protect floors, furniture and sockets with sheeting or masking tape. Avoid painting over power outlets and switches; keep them covered and dry.
- Keep containers closed when not in use and only shake or stir as directed by the manufacturer.
- Do not smoke or use open flames or spark-producing tools near the work area.
- Use stable ladders and do not overreach. Keep the area clear to prevent trips.
- Do not mix paints, solvents or additives of different types unless expressly instructed by the manufacturer.
- Clean up any spills immediately and clearly mark the area until dry to prevent slips.
- After painting, continue ventilating until the odours have dissipated.
Storage and maintenance
- Store the paint in its original container, tightly closed, upright and with the label legible.
- Keep tins out of reach of children and pets, in a cool, dry, ventilated place, protected from frost, excessive heat and direct sunlight.
- Keep containers away from sources of heat, sparks and flames. Do not store next to food or drink.
- Periodically check older tins; if they show leaks, rust or the contents are degraded, do not use them.
- Clean tools according to the paint type (water- or solvent-based) and avoid pouring leftovers or wash water down the drain; use collection points where applicable.
- Solvent-soaked rags can ignite; spread them out to air-dry in a safe place before disposal.
Restrictions of use
- Not suitable for consumption or cosmetic use. Keep products and tools out of reach of children and pets.
- Do not use in spaces without adequate ventilation or near naked flames, open-flame heaters or while smoking.
- Do not apply on hot or damp surfaces, on surfaces with active mould, or on those in poor condition without proper preparation.
- Do not paint radiators, cookers or other surfaces exposed to high temperatures unless the product expressly states otherwise.
- Do not use on toys, cots or surfaces in direct contact with food or drinking water, unless specified on the packaging.
- People with asthma, allergies or sensitivity to odours should minimise exposure and avoid staying in the room during application and drying.
