Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Falls or loss of balance due to poor installation or unsuitable fixings.
  • Detachment or loosening with prolonged use, especially in humid environments.
  • Slippery surface due to water, soap, oils or built-up limescale.
  • Finger pinching in fold-down models or those with moving parts.
  • Cuts or abrasions from loose or damaged edges, caps or trims.
  • Corrosion of screws or fixings that weakens the attachment.
  • Snagging of clothing or hung items that could unbalance the user.

Safe use

  • Follow the manufacturer's instructions and ensure it is fixed to a robust surface compatible with the specified fixings.
  • Before first use, test its firmness with a gradual, controlled load without compromising your balance.
  • Observe the maximum load stated by the manufacturer; do not use the bar as a ladder or to support suspended body weight.
  • Keep the surface clean and as dry as possible; remove residues of soap, oils and limescale to improve grip.
  • Check there is clear space around it for a full grip and that doors, curtains or screens do not interfere.
  • For suction-cup or adhesive models, check the hold before each use and use only on smooth, clean, non-porous surfaces as specified by the manufacturer.
  • For fold-down bars, operate the mechanism carefully and keep fingers away from hinges and pivot points.

Storage and maintenance

  • Before installation, store the bar in a dry place protected from impacts.
  • Periodically check screws, brackets and caps; if you detect any looseness, readjust or reinstall according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Inspect for signs of corrosion, cracks, deformation or loose parts; if there is damage, replace the product.
  • Clean with a soft cloth and neutral detergent; avoid abrasives or very harsh products that may damage the finish and reduce grip.
  • Dry after cleaning or splashes to limit persistent moisture.
  • For fold-down models, regularly check that the mechanism remains stable in the in-use or stowed position, as appropriate.

Restrictions of use

  • Do not use as a climbing aid, swing, support for ropes or to hang heavy objects.
  • Do not use if the installation shows any looseness, visible damage, or after an impact, until it has been properly inspected.
  • Do not modify the product or replace the screws with parts not recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Do not install on surfaces unsuitable for load-bearing without the appropriate reinforcements specified by the manufacturer.
  • Children must not play with or hang from the bar; supervision is recommended in households with children.
  • People with reduced mobility or balance should familiarise themselves with the bar and undertake initial use with assistance until its safety and suitable positioning are confirmed.
