Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Movement or overturning due to wind if the garage is not properly anchored to a stable base.
- Deformation or local collapses due to build-up of snow, water or leaves on the roof and gutters.
- Entrapment and impacts with panels, doors and fittings during assembly and daily use.
- Cuts from edges, sheet metal or exposed fixings.
- Poisoning from exhaust gases when operating engines indoors without adequate ventilation.
- Fire due to improper storage of fuels, paints or solvents, or due to the presence of sparks and heat sources.
- Falls when working at height or when attempting to access the roof.
- Deterioration due to moisture and corrosion which can weaken joints and anchors over time.
- Electrical hazard if equipment or wiring is installed without adequate protection against the weather and moisture.
Safe use
- Read and follow the manufacturer's instructions for assembly and use of the specific model.
- Assemble on a firm, level base and anchor the garage at all designated points. Avoid assembling in strong winds or rain.
- Handle panels and doors with two people when they are heavy or bulky. Use gloves, closed-toe footwear and eye protection.
- Keep hands away from hinges, tracks and door mechanisms; secure the door to prevent sudden closing.
- Ensure adequate ventilation: do not run engines with the door closed. Open the door and ventilate the interior.
- Keep the interior tidy: place heavy loads on the floor or low shelves and secure shelving to the wall to prevent tipping.
- Keep heat sources away from combustible materials and avoid smoking inside if flammable liquids are stored.
- Electrical connections and light fittings must be installed by qualified personnel and be suitable for outdoor or damp environments.
- During high winds or storms, close and lock doors and windows; check anchors and fixings after the storm.
Storage and maintenance
- Do not obstruct vents or ventilation openings; encourage air circulation to reduce condensation.
- Periodically check fixings, anchors, hinges and seals; retighten and replace damaged parts when necessary.
- Clean gutters and drains; remove accumulated snow or leaves using tools from ground level. Do not walk on the roof unless the model expressly allows it.
- Keep the floor dry and free from oils to prevent slips; clean up spills immediately.
- Protect surfaces with treatments compatible with the model's material (anti-corrosion, paints or wood preservatives).
- Periodically lubricate hinges, locks and door tracks with suitable products.
- Inspect for signs of rust, swelling, cracks or deformation; address unusual noises or excessive play.
- Store fuels and chemicals in sealed containers, in a ventilated area, and away from sources of heat and sparks.
- After strong winds or hailstorms, remove branches or objects that have struck the structure and check its stability.
Restrictions on use
- Do not overload the structure or hang heavy objects from the ceiling or panels if they are not designed for that purpose.
- Do not modify structural elements or make cuts or holes that could weaken the structural strength or compromise watertightness.
- Do not use the garage as living accommodation, a kitchen or a boiler room. Avoid open flames and portable stoves inside.
- Do not store gas cylinders or fuels without adequate ventilation, nor expose them to direct sunlight or sources of heat.
- Do not allow children to play inside or around it without supervision; keep tools and chemicals out of their reach.
- Do not carry out welding or cutting work without specific ventilation and fire prevention measures.
- Do not rest ladders on panels, doors or gutters; use firm supports on the ground.
- Do not park vehicles with the engine running in an enclosed space.
- Do not block access or exits with stored items; keep a clear passageway.
- Do not use the garage if you detect structural damage or loose fixings until it has been repaired.
