Outdoor Swing Seats
Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Tipping or shifting on uneven ground or in gusts of wind.
- Falls when sitting down or standing up, and impacts due to uncontrolled swinging.
- Trapping and pinching at hinges, pivot points and folding mechanisms.
- Breakage due to overloading or poor weight distribution on one side.
- Failure of chains, ropes or joints damaged by wear, rust or fatigue.
- Very hot metal surfaces from sun exposure that can cause minor burns.
- Risk of fire or burns if placed near barbecues, braziers or outdoor heaters.
- Persistent moisture in cushions or fabrics that encourages mould and unpleasant odours.
Safe use
- Assemble following the manufacturer's instructions and check that screws and fixings are securely tightened.
- Place on a firm, level surface, leaving clear space in front of and behind the swing arc.
- Before use, inspect the frame, suspension points, fixings and fabrics; stop using it if there is any play, cracks or unusual noises.
- Observe the stated maximum load; sit centrally, and do not stand on or jump on the seat.
- Swing gently and keep hands, fingers, hair and clothing away from joints and moving parts.
- If the model has a stop or locking system, use it when getting on and off and in windy conditions.
- Keep the area clear of walls, railings, glass panels, plant pots and walkways to avoid collisions.
- Avoid placing very full drinks or hot items on armrests or surfaces that move with the swing.
Storage and maintenance
- Clean with mild soapy water and dry thoroughly; avoid abrasive products that could damage finishes or fabrics.
- Periodically retighten the fixings and check chains, ropes and anchor points; replace worn parts with compatible spares.
- Protect with a breathable cover when not in use; do not cover it when wet to prevent condensation and mould.
- Store cushions and, if possible, the canopy under cover when it rains or during periods of inactivity; allow to dry completely after each wet use.
- In periods of strong winds or in winter, remove textile elements and, if possible, store the set indoors or secure it properly.
- Check and keep the foot caps or leg protectors in good condition to prevent slipping and surface damage.
Restrictions on use
- Not a toy: avoid acrobatics, extreme swinging or rough pushing.
- Not suitable for babies or for sleeping; children must always use it under adult supervision.
- Do not exceed the number of seats or the recommended maximum load; do not hang from the top bar or the sides.
- Do not use on rooftop edges, narrow balconies, near staircases or pools without a barrier.
- Do not place or use near open flames, braziers, barbecues or intense heat sources.
- Avoid using on slippery surfaces (ice, wet tiles) or very soft ground that could compromise stability.
- People with unstable balance or reduced mobility should take extra care when sitting down and standing up and, if necessary, ask for help.
- Do not use if there is visible damage, loose parts or deformation in the frame or suspension components.
