Safety warnings and precautions
Key risks
- Falls from platforms, ladders or slides and impacts with the ground or other parts of the equipment.
- Entrapment of fingers, hands, head or neck in gaps, nets, ropes or between moving parts.
- Snagging or strangulation from drawstrings, scarves, pendants or helmets with straps.
- Tipping over or movement of the assembly due to loose anchors or unstable ground.
- Being struck by swings or other moving elements when passing nearby.
- Slips on wet, icy or sandy/dusty surfaces; minor burns from surfaces overheated by the sun.
- Splinters in wood, sharp edges, protruding fixings or rust.
- Presence of foreign objects, glass, faeces or insect nests in the play area.
Safe use
- Follow the manufacturer’s manual for assembly and installation. Before first use, check that the structure is level and firmly anchored.
- Install the playset in a clear area, away from walls, fences, low branches, windows and overhead lines or cables. Use an appropriate impact-absorbing surface and keep it free of obstacles.
- Close and active adult supervision during play. Keep other children away from swings or other moving elements.
- Teach basic rules: slide sitting down with feet first; do not climb up the slide the wrong way; swing while seated; one person per seat or section where applicable; wait your turn without pushing.
- Before each use, carry out a quick check for loose screws, loose parts, frayed ropes, cracks or splinters. If you detect damage or instability, do not use until it has been rectified.
- Avoid use in rain, ice, strong winds or extreme heat. Check the temperature of slides, bars and seats exposed to the sun.
- Appropriate clothing and accessories: closed, non-slip footwear; avoid long drawstrings, scarves, dangling jewellery and bike helmets within the playset.
- Respect the ages, weights and maximum number of users specified by the manufacturer for each module.
Storage and maintenance
- Periodic inspection: tighten fixings, check anchors, and the integrity of platforms, guardrails, ropes, nets and seats. Replace damaged parts with compatible spares from the manufacturer.
- Remove splinters or rough edges and clean surfaces to prevent slippery residues. Protect wood and metal following the manufacturer’s recommendations.
- Keep the fall zone free of stones, plant pots, toys or other obstacles. Renew or redistribute the impact-absorbing material when necessary.
- Collect or store loose accessories (ropes, rings, mats) during prolonged periods of non-use or in winter. Remove standing water from slides and platforms.
- After storms, frosts or strong gusts of wind, check stability, anchors and any possible damage before allowing play.
- If the playset has not been used for some time, carry out a full inspection before resuming use.
Restrictions on use
