Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Water contact, splashes or condensation reaching electrical parts, which may cause electric shock.
- Overheating due to insufficient ventilation or covering the luminaire, posing a risk of burns or fire.
- The unit falling into the aquarium due to poor fixing, with possible damage to the equipment and the tank.
- Breakage of glass tubes or panels with a risk of cuts and scattering of fragments.
- Direct exposure to very intense light or certain spectra that may cause glare or eye discomfort.
- Excessive or poorly adjusted lighting that stresses fish, corals and plants and favours algal growth.
Safe use
- Install the luminaire firmly and level; use the intended brackets or hangers and periodically check screws and fixings.
- Keep power supplies and connections away from splashes; create a drip loop in the cables and always plug in with dry hands.
- Do not immerse any part unless stated as submersible; use splash guards or covers if the equipment includes them.
- Leave space for ventilation; do not cover the luminaire or enclose it in unventilated compartments; avoid placing it too close to the water surface.
- Before adjusting, cleaning or replacing lamps/modules, disconnect from the mains and allow the unit to cool.
- If the unit falls into the water, cut the power at the socket or main switch before touching it; allow it to dry completely before using it again.
- Adjust intensity and schedule gradually; using a timer helps maintain stable photoperiods and reduce stress on the animals.
- Avoid looking directly at very powerful light sources or those without a diffuser.
Storage and maintenance
- Remove dust, salt deposits and residues with a soft cloth, dry or slightly dampened; do not spray cleaners directly onto the equipment or use water jets.
- Regularly check cables, connectors, switches and seals; if you detect cracks, wear, corrosion or a burning smell, stop using the equipment.
- Keep heat sinks and ventilation slots free of obstructions and dirt.
- Place drivers and controllers in elevated, dry and well-ventilated areas to reduce condensation.
- Replace lamps or modules when they flicker, show uneven brightness or blackening; handle only when they are cool.
- Store glass tubes and panels protected against impacts and with nothing placed on top.
- In the event of glass breakage, ventilate the area and carefully collect the fragments, avoiding contact with skin and eyes.
Usage restrictions
- For indoor and aquarium use; not suitable for outdoors or areas with vapour or direct water jets.
- Do not use the equipment if the cable, plug or housing is damaged or wet.
- Do not modify the product or use incompatible adapters, power supplies or dimmers.
- Do not cover the luminaire with towels, plastics or unventilated lids; keep it away from combustible materials.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets; adult supervision is required during installation and maintenance.
- Do not use the light as a source of heat or to dry objects.
- Avoid continuous 24/7 use; aquariums usually require periods of darkness.
