Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Interference with vehicle controls (gear lever, handbrake, console controls) and with the seatbelt buckle.
- Partial obstruction of seat sliding or folding if the armrest is incorrectly positioned.
- Potential impact on side airbag deployment zones if it encroaches on marked areas.
- Risk of injury due to detachment or movement of the armrest during braking or sudden manoeuvres.
- Pinching of fingers when opening/closing the lid or adjusting the height.
- Damage to upholstery, hidden wiring or vehicle mounting points when drilling or screwing without knowing what lies behind.
- Distractions when handling the compartment while driving.
- On models with integrated ports or electrical connections, risk of overheating or failure if installed or used incorrectly.
Safe use
- Check compatibility with your car and choose a mounting point that does not interfere with controls, seatbelts or areas marked “airbag”.
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions and use only the specified mounts and fixings; avoid improvised fastenings.
- Before setting off, check that you can operate the gear lever and handbrake without obstruction, and that the seatbelts fasten and release easily.
- Adjust the armrest position or height only when the vehicle is stationary.
- Keep the lid closed and items stowed securely so they do not become projectiles.
- Ensure the seats can slide and fold without rubbing or obstruction.
- If the model integrates electrical components, use the recommended cables and accessories and keep them away from moisture.
- After installation, check that there is no play or abnormal noises when driving over bumps or braking gently.
Storage and maintenance
- Periodically check screws and mounts; retighten if any play is detected.
- Clean with a soft cloth and a neutral cleaner; avoid solvents, alcohols or abrasives that may damage plastics and upholstery.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme heat and do not leave aerosols, lighters or flammable objects in the compartment.
- Do not overload the lid or the compartment; observe any stated capacity.
- Keep hinges and mechanisms free of dirt; lubricate only if indicated by the manufacturer.
- Wipe up any spills immediately to prevent odours and damage to materials or mechanisms.
- If the armrest becomes loose, cracks or loses stability, stop using it until it is repaired or replaced.
Usage restrictions
- Do not install the armrest over areas marked “airbag” or where it may interfere with airbag deployment.
- Do not cover or obstruct the gear lever, handbrake, essential ports or the seatbelt buckle.
- Do not use it as a seat, step or support to bear body weight.
- Do not allow children to handle it without supervision and keep small assembly parts out of their reach.
- Do not drill or cut trim without knowing what is behind; avoid modifying structural parts of the vehicle.
- Do not adjust or access the compartment while driving.
- In vehicles with a manual gearbox or a mechanical handbrake, do not install it if it limits the arm's range of movement when operating these controls.
- If installation involves removing the console, drilling near wiring, or working on safety systems, have it carried out by qualified personnel.
