Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Falls or tip-overs when sitting on the edge, on the armrests, or standing on the armchair.
  • Entrapment of fingers, clothing or cables in reclining, swivel or footrest mechanisms.
  • Knocks from unexpected movement on slippery floors or if the model has a swivel base or castors.
  • Risk of burns or fire if placed near fireplaces, stoves, radiators or candles.
  • Cuts or scratches from exposed staples, screws or edges when the upholstery is damaged.
  • Choking on packaging bags or accidental ingestion of fillings in case of breakages or tears (especially in children and pets).
  • Skin irritation or discolouration from the use of unsuitable cleaners.

Safe use

  • Assemble and check fixings following the manufacturer's instructions; do not use if parts are missing or there is any looseness.
  • Place on a firm, level surface; use non-slip pads if the floor is very smooth.
  • Sit centrally; do not jump or use the armrests or the backrest to climb or reach objects.
  • On reclining or footrest models, operate slowly and keep hands and clothing away from the hinges; leave clear space in front and behind.
  • Keep a safe distance from heat sources and flames; do not place candles or hot appliances on the armchair.
  • Remove and dispose of plastic and packaging materials safely.
  • Keep the area clear and free of cables; do not route cables under the armchair where they could be pinched.
  • Clean spills immediately with suitable upholstery products and dry thoroughly.

Storage and maintenance

  • Recommended for indoor use, in dry, ventilated areas; avoid moisture and prolonged condensation.
  • Protect from direct sunlight to minimise discolouration and material degradation.
  • Vacuum and air the upholstery regularly; test cleaners on an inconspicuous area before general use.
  • Periodically check feet, screws, glides and seams; re-tighten or replace parts if there is wear or instability.
  • Replace covers or torn upholstery that exposes staples, springs or foam.
  • Use protectors on the feet to protect delicate floors and improve stability.
  • If not in use for a while, cover with a breathable cover and keep away from dust and direct light.

Usage restrictions

  • Do not use as a ladder, workbench or for standing on.
  • Not suitable for outdoor use or damp areas unless expressly stated by the manufacturer.
  • Do not allow children to play, jump or hide in or behind the armchair; keep children and pets away from moving mechanisms.
  • Do not modify the structure or remove stops or safety locks; do not pierce or cut the upholstery.
  • Do not use the armchair if it is unstable, wobbles or shows cracks, loose screws or protruding elements.
  • Respect the maximum weight recommended by the manufacturer and the intended seating capacity.
  • Do not leave babies or others who may topple without help asleep or unattended on the armchair.
