Main risks

- Lamp falling due to inadequate fixing or a ceiling not suitable for supporting the weight.
- Overheating and fire when using bulbs with a higher wattage than specified or through contact with flammable materials.
- Burns from touching bulbs or parts that reach high temperatures after prolonged use.
- Cuts or injuries from broken glass shades or sharp metal edges.
- Bumps or trips if installed too low in walkways or above work areas.

Safe use
- Switch off the power at the consumer unit before installing, moving or changing the bulb.
- Use fixings suitable for the ceiling type and the lamp's weight; check that the bracket is secure and level.
- Adjust the height to provide clear headroom and avoid collisions with doors, cupboards or heads.
- Observe the bulb type and maximum wattage specified by the manufacturer; if using a dimmer, use compatible bulbs.
- Keep clear of curtains, shelving and other materials that may heat up; allow ventilation around the shade.
- Secure the cable so it does not form loops and is out of children's reach; avoid sudden swinging.
- Do not hang decorations, plants or other objects from the lamp or the cable.
- In areas with moisture or grease (bathrooms, kitchens), install only suitably rated models and avoid direct splashes.
- When changing bulbs, allow them to cool, use dry hands and do not force the lamp holder.
Storage and maintenance
- Before cleaning, switch off the power and allow to cool completely.
- Dust with a soft cloth; avoid abrasive products and do not wet electrical parts.
- Periodically check screws, the ceiling bracket and the cable fixing; re-tighten if you detect any looseness.
- Check the condition of the cable, lamp holder and shade; replace damaged or cracked parts.
- Replace bulbs that flicker or give off unusual heat.
- If you are not going to install it immediately, store the lamp in its original packaging, in a dry place and protected from impacts, especially the glass parts.
Restrictions of use
- Do not use the lamp outdoors or in damp areas unless expressly indicated by the manufacturer.
- Do not use it if you detect damage to the cable, lamp holder, shade or mounting system.
- Do not cover the lamp with fabrics, covers or decorations that block ventilation or touch the bulb.
- Do not use dimmer switches or electrical accessories that are not compatible.
- Do not allow children to handle, swing or hang from the lamp; avoid installing it over cots or next to bunk beds.
- If you do not have experience with electrical work or the ceiling requires special fixings, have it installed by a qualified professional.
